Dear CCISD Families, August 11, the first day of school, will be here before we know it. We’ve designed this guide just for you, and we hope it answers many of your questions as you prepare for the new school year.
The preK-12 experience is a partnership between students, families and educators, and this guide is one small part in our comprehensive effort to collaborate with you to ensure your child has a positive, successful school experience.
CCISD is the place to be! We’ve earned top honors from esteemed organizations, including H-E-B Excellence in Education and the National
Hispanic Institute. We’re involved with the Purple Star program to support military students and their families. And, as a large district, we are proud to offer a variety of fine arts, athletics and club activities to help your child become part of our thriving school communities.
One of the best ways you can help us, and your child, is by ensuring your child has excellent attendance. As parents, we want our children to have a bright future, and the research is clear: consistent attendance is directly linked to academic success.
Our principals, teachers and support staff across our 54 schools are delighted to welcome students to a new year of

Corpus Christi ISD is proud to announce the next phase of its “1:1 for Everyone” initiative, which expands access to digital learning tools for all grade levels.
Beginning in the 2025–26 school year, all students in grades K–12 will have access to a district-issued device to support their learning and digital growth.
• Grades K–2: Students will use a dedicated 1:1 device during the school day.
Grades 3–5: Each student will be assigned a device for daily use at school.
• Grades 6–12: Students will receive an assigned device for use at both school and home.
Families of students in grades K–5 will also have the option to request their child’s assigned device be sent home to support extended learning opportunities outside the classroom.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE INITIATIVE:
Internet filters: All devices will have internet filtering to help ensure safe browsing at school and home.
Insurance options: Families will have access to device insurance options ranging from $15 to $30, which can be found on the school’s webstore.
Student Technology Service Center: Certified high school student technicians will continue to provide device repair and maintenance through the Student Technology Service Center, supporting both sustainability and career-ready skills development.
To learn more about the 1:1 Student Device Initiative— including FAQs, please visit ccisd.us/page/technology-services or reach out through Let’s Talk or by contacting Technology Services by texting (361) 600-3691 or emailing Let’s Talk at ccisd.tx@k12-lets-talk.com
Arriving on time and attending school every day is the best way for your student to be successful at school! Strong attendance during the elementary years builds good habits and supports emerging reading and math skills. When teens have good attendance, they are using an important skill they’ll need in the workplace, as well as stay up to date with the essential classes they’ll need for their future goals.
· Please call or email the school that day to report the reason for the absence.
· Please submit a medical excuse or a written note describing the reason for the absence.
Can my child lose credit if they have less than 90% attendance for the year?
• State law requires that students attend class 90% of the school year to receive credit.
• Ten or more unexcused absences in a six-month period may result in truancy court hearings. We are here to support your student as they work to maintain good attendance! For more information on attendance requirements and support resources, contact your student’s school or the Office of Admissions, Attendance and Student Support Services at 361-695-7246.
During the school day, students must sign out through the front office. Thank you for following sign-out procedures and bringing your proof of identity, which is required for your student’s safety.

Texas House Bill 1481, effective the 2025-26 school year, requires Districts to implement a policy that prohibits students from using personal communication devices during the entire school day and while on school property. A personal communication device means a cellphone, tablet, smart watch, smart glasses, or any other electronic device capable of telecommunication or digital communication. Parents and guardians should discuss this new state law with their students and the importance of following school rules and the consequences for noncompliance.
