Senior Member Master WatchGeek Coalition Forces auto .. a success ?

I think this is a great watch deal, but there are almost 400 left today just prior to it's last airing ? .... Why do you think this is the case. I would have thought this would be close to sell out ? Blue

I like the look of it but am reluctant to buy a "scratchable" all titanium watch--although I do like the rubber strap. arcata1946 View Public Profile Send a private message to arcata1946 Find all posts by arcata1946 Add arcata1946 to Your Contacts #8 Today, 10:47 AM Join Date: Apr 2010 Posts: 173

I bought the GMT version a few weeks ago on the Sunday Run for about $180 or so? It's the exact same watch just a different movement. I would never use the gray rubber strap, so there wasn't enough difference to make me pull the trigger. I'm probably not the only one with those thoughts. __________________ Corvettes & Watches

Possibly because we are in a recession, the unemployment rate is still around 9%, meaning that $600 is a lot to spend for a watch. gaorph View Public Profile Send a private message to gaorph Find all posts by gaorph Add gaorph to Your Contacts #15 Today, 01:01 PM

I think it was a success. I honestly don't think the price was bad. Just could not afford it right now. Personally, I don't care for the big black box, got three of those in the closet and the additional strap color kinda odd for me. With out the box and strap I think the price could have been lower like $450 to $489 range. At least for me easier to swing than $600. Still I really want one maybe hopefully down the road I can get one. Again IMHO. congrats to all who got in on it. can't wait for the wrist shots in LWIG. regards alex crx21000 View Public Profile Send a private message to crx21000 Find all posts by crx21000

I think it's because so many of us have all ready purchased the GMT from the shop or the Run and it would be kinda silly to buy the same watch over again just because the movement is different (no offense to the one geek that did exactly that on this post). __________________

Man! if you guys don't jump on this one you will be missing out, I own several titanium watches and find them to be incredible and so superior to stainless steel in many ways such as comfort and looks not to mention they are hypoallergenic and stronger than steel. It's called being conflicted and not being able to make up ones mind. The ana digi model has a movement that you don't see too often and the auto has the ETA 2824 and limited edition. Both have their own Pro's & Con's. Pro- I can keep them both in the black box. The strap will fit both so i'll only need one and I'll have an extra bracelet ( I'll keep that one wrapped-if I ever want to sell one I'll have a brand new bracelet). As I've said before " I'm going to revisit it " in a new variation. Well, here it is .. I like the auto much better. But, the prices on the others shote down and no one expected that either so this is why I'm hesitating with so many left. I'll have to see the numbers. If only another hundred sell, then I'm waiting. For sure, if that happens, there will be some savings down the road. It's not as though if it doesn't sell out or come anywhere near sellout, that it won't be around ... so other than the 6 vp's ... no need to rush. JMO .. Blue .. I didn't like the ANA D but that was just me .. the auto seems a better variation for my use. I like simplicity in dials and this has it. Time will tell. Thanks guys for the input !! .. You know, the original thread discussing the new auto coalition forces suggested by the volume of posts that the watch was/is overpriced. I often wonder if ANY other Swiss watch brand, Oris, Tag, whatever was put on the dial what would happen. The answer is, a sell out in short order. It seems to me that Invicta has boxed itself into a niche of buyers who will only pay "up to" a certain price. It doesn't matter about the movement, the quality, etc. lets face it folks, there is a "ceiling" on what most are willing to pay for Invicta. With a 2824 movement in a titanium case, this is not a crazy price for a watch of this calibre, yet some will wait for it being on a DOD site (WHICH I BELIEVE HAS HURT many companies, not just Invicta). Anyway, I don't happen to like the watch (for me), however it did not strike me as something which was overpriced and I thought sales would be brisk. I mean, people complain about the SW-200, then they put in an ETA 2824...guess it must still be that flame fusion crystal??? They now have a Minimum Advertised Pricing Policy (M.A.P) in place. It basically states that no dealer in good standing can advertise an (xyz) for less than a pre-determined percentage off of list price. Here, we have the Shop with one list Price and Invicta itself with another List Price (warranties) and all kinds of internet sites going after the same business. Now, it has reached critical mass and is affecting the percieved qualty of the brand and unrealistic customer expectations. Last edited by bayside1; Today at 03:05 PM. Reason: spelling

This will be my first duplicate of a series but for ME the CF line is my favorite design from any manufacturer ever. So while I have an ANADIGI I will now rock the auto as well. I may become a CF collector. As a matter of fact, I will have to get a GMT version! The black case will hold the three nicely. __________________ My Bands new live EP "Even In Silence" http://on.fb.me/eiSJO5
