FROM THE DESK OF ..... DENISE The newly approved Strategic Plan embraces and exemplifies our commitment to you and our community

I invite you to review the newly approved Strategic Plan included in this newsletter. This document embraces and exemplifies the commitment of the Board and our Staff to continue serving our Members. We are very optimistic about the future growth of the Chamber. The message of the ever increasing importance of our Government Affairs /Advocacy programs clearly and loudly resounded during the Strategic Planning Process. As such, this area became one of the Chamber’s highest and most important priority Strategic Plan initiatives for 2011 and beyond. The Chamber’s goal is to demystify and engage the business community in the legislative process as the purpose of our government affairs program is to facilitate positive change for our membership, the business community and the community at large. We will continue to update you on the issues that impact the state of our economy, legislative debates that are moving in Albany and Capitol Hill which may affect your business and other top news. Your voice is an essential part of each and every action we take. In the words of ACCE (American Chamber of Commerce Executives) President, Mick Fleming … “Stay in touch. These are times when we can be exceptionally valuable to one another. By working together, we will become stronger than ever.” Together, we can do so much more! President, Corning Area Chamber of Commerce

MEMBER ANNOUNCEMENTS The Chamber wishes to extend recognition to the following Members for their upcoming anniversaries: Ÿ Bottles & Corks – 10 Years Ÿ Corning Museum of Glass – 60 Years Here’s to a job well done … and continued success! The journey of Haircolor Masters has been one of hope, persistence, and continued success. Owners Murray and Deanie Knowles opened in November 2004. Their journey began in a 1400 square foot space with only Deanie, one other stylist, and big dreams. By 2008, Haircolor Masters had experienced tremendous growth and success. So much so, that they expanded their scope to add a full service spa within their new 3000 square foot location. Haircolor Masters & Rejuvenating Day Spa opened on June 3, 2008 with a staff of twelve and has continued a trend of growth since their first day of business in 2004. Throughout 2010, Haircolor Masters & Rejuvenating Day Spa surpassed an incredible milestone of $500,000 in gross sales. Both Deanie and Murray Knowles know that this would never have been possible without the staff: Sonia, Cheryl, Carey May, Lynn, Stephanie, Marcia, Amanda, Deb, Doralee, Ashley, and Ally.
