Totnes Show is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2018. Held at Berry
Pomeroy, on Sunday July 29, the show boasts a fabulous selection of live entertainment, music, stands and food demonstrations. There are two exciting main ring headline events this year - The Parachute Regiment Freefall Team – The Red Devils - and the British Scurry Teams challenge, which is a fast paced carriage driving sport offering family entertainment at its thrilling best. Watch ponies and carriages fly around an obstacle course all against the clock. The best drivers from all over the country will head to Totnes aiming to be the 2018 Totnes Show Champion. And all of this along with a host of other exciting attractions! Lamb shearing, rural skills, terrier racing and vintage cars and tractors combines with attractions such as a music stage, food hall, family dog show, ferret racing, cycle shows & falconry, to make a fantastic varied fun event. Visitors can marvel at the cattle, sheep, horses, poultry and rare breeds in their glory. Have a cuddle in the pet’s corner and watch the hilarious ‘Sheep Show’ where the sheep actually dance. See the magnificent heavy horses too. And specially to mark the 100th show there is more than ever on offer for children with ferret racing, exotic animals and reptiles, Sylvan Adventures providing have a go at wood carving and archery in the family area together with circus skills. We are also looking forward to welcoming the Two Bridges Flyball Club, so bring your four legged friends along to join in the fun. Jul 26 - 27 OCEAN CITY SOUNDS The Hoe The two day event builds on the success of MTV Crashes Plymouth and is part of the MTV Presents series. Indie titans Bastille will headline Day One, performing a full 90 minute set, supported by Ella Eyre, Professor Green and R3WIRE & VARSKI, whilst Day Two will be headlined by Pete Tong and the Heritage Orchestra performing Ibiza Classics conducted by Jules Buckley. Aug 8 - 9 BRITISH FIREWORK CHAMPIONSHIPS The Hoe The world famous British Firework
Championships is set to return to Plymouth’s Waterfront in August. Each year, six professional display firework companies are selected by a draw to take part, and despite varying weather conditions over the years - and even a World War II bomb being found on the site - the event has successfully taken place every year since it started in 1997. In addition to the dazzling display of fireworks, there is entertainment on the Hoe including a fun fair with thrill rides, Heart FM providing live music and a number of catering facilities available to stave off any hunger during the show. Aug 10 - 12 OCEAN CITY BLUES N JAZZ FESTIVAL 2018 The Parade, The Barbican The Ocean City Blues n Jazz Festival returns for a third year, sponsored by Rowes Honda, delighting blues and jazz fans around the city and further afield with another great weekend of live music in one of Britain’s most stunning locations. Acts this year include familiar faces such as Andy Quick and his band, The Rumblestrutters, Benny Guitar Carr, Midnight Blues Train, Vince Lee’s Big Combo and loads more to boot.
