Further improvements to Central Park have been approved with £2.6 million worth of funding.

Patrick Nicholson, deputy leader and Cabinet member for Strategic Transport, Housing and Planning, said: “I’m really excited to see the Central Park Masterplan come to fruition.

“With the first phase ongoing, all the preparation has now been done for what I like to think of as the ‘high-ticket items’ in the park. “Central Park is so important to the city and the council aim to deliver an outstanding public sport and recreational offer which encourages people to use the park to live a more active lifestyle for
