Slope Day Tribute ’Twas the night before Slope Day, when all through the frats All the bros were a-stirring in their letter clad hats. The Keystones were set by the bedside with care, In hopes that sweet Slope Day soon would be there. The freshman were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of Kendrick danced in their heads. And I in my Co-op and with a little night-cap, Had just settled down for a pre-Slope Day nap. When out on the street there arose such a clatter, I stumbled from bed to see what was the matter. Down to the porch I flew like a flash, To find that Slope Day had come at long last. While some professors held class just for show Even the Asians seemed to gain a pink glow. When what to my wondering eyes should appear, But an ambiguous shot, and some really crap beer! But oh Captain and Crown with Bud and Grey Goose! The mixers and and mix-ups and bad jungle juice! To the brim of the cup, fill it up tall! Now drink it down! Keep it down! Drink it down all! As birds must travel at the weather’s strict will, So too were we drawn to that slope of a hill. Some did not make it, they were down for the count, But this did not stop us from climbing the mount. And then with some static, I heard from the stage The counting and huffing of a sound check engaged! As I drew up my head, and was turning around, On the stage came Kendrick, with a great musical bound! He was dressed all in swager, from his head to his glasses, And he danced with fine ladies, shaking their asses. A torrent of lyrics were flung from his throat, And the mosh thronged drunkenly, a stage-guarding moat. But finally he finished, and some were near sober, While the hot mid-day sun had caused burning all over. So slowly and stumbly the students they rose, And went to their houses for an afternoon doze. But fear not dear students, it will come once more! When no one cares that you’ve puked on the floor. May you all enjoy your drunken delight, Happy Slope Day to all! And to all a good night!
