OUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS

EXTRACTING THE BRIEF

• Identify short, medium and long-term priorities for the business.

• Apply a considerable amount of time and effort in extracting a correct and comprehensive brief for each position by ensuring we thoroughly understand the details of the role and the candidate requirements

REFERRALS

• Check in office for top applicant referrals. We have a target at COREcruitment that 40% of our placed candidates will come via referrals and recommendations – good people tend to know good people.

• We actively incentivise candidates to put us in touch with their friends/colleagues and contacts to find a higher number of ‘passive job seekers’

ADVERTISING

• While our system is our first port of call, we will also advertise roles on appropriate sites as well as utilise our highly visible social media sites.

• All adverts will be posted with a high level of confidentially as will be the first response.

• For bulk campaigns we can conduct joint branded adverts.

SEARCHING – FIRST LEVEL

• Our system is a first port of call as we have an internal pre-screened candidate database of 550, 000 contacts identified COREcruitment also has access to many different external sites and social platforms that we use to search for candidates.

SEARCHING - ADVANCED

• COREcruitment will actively target candidates from competitor/target businesses.

• We use a variety of techniques to make these approaches and only mention a client name when a sufficient level of relationship and trust are established.

SCREENING

COREcruitment have a multi-layered attraction method but our basic screening philosophy is very simple

1/3 Technical Ability

1/3 Culture Fit

1/3 Motivation

The next stage of our process is by initially screening a candidate by conducting a non-vacancy specific telephone conversation. This is because the candidates we register are matched on what they want to do –rather than what they apply for – this way we can find a much better long-term fit.

Upon identifying the candidate’s suitability, we then conduct a second face to face/ zoom interview which is more specific to the job at hand. During this interview not only do we present our client in the best possible light, but we feel it is important to properly brief the candidates on the vacancy and company.

CANDIDATE SUBMISSION AND CLIENT MEETINGS

Your Account Manager will:

• present long list of candidates for priority roles within an agreed timeframe, e.g. 1 week

• work with the client to distil a short list for scheduled first stage meetings

• assist the client in the recruitment process as candidate liaison

Allowing for travel we would hope the interview process to be completed and a candidate to be identified to offer within a 4 – 6-week period. This would allow for a three-stage client recruitment process.

OFFER, NEGOTIATION AND ON-BOARDING

• Client will select their preferred candidate.

• COREcruitment will act as mediator in negotiations (the package would have been confirmed)

• Multiple times over the course of the recruitment process).

• Management of resignation and counter-offer.

• Onboarding and integration into business (regular contact for first six months).

SALARY BENCHMARKING SALARY CHECKERS

Our benchmarking process is, simply put, a case study for any given position companies, business leaders or investment houses would like to request data on.

Its main purposes are that of realigning internal positions to the market, re-evaluating salary packages, or used when planning new openings to offer the most competitive and attractive salaries.

These are even more accurate if done either at regional or country levels, as salaries can differ from one region to another.

Our data is collected from the following (but not limited) sources:

o Own database of > 650,000 screened contacts worldwide across the service industry

o Direct competitors’ salary studies

o External international advertising boards

o An extensive network of international service industry experts

o 60 industry & field expert consultants

CASE STUDIES : General Manger for a high-tech entertainment venue

The case: Hiring a top-end, highly skilled senior General Manager in Texas

The client:

This leisure and sports concept is an energetic, thrilling, social experience where a classic game is enjoyed in a fun, adrenalin-filled, hospitable space. Craft cocktails, beers, and sharing plates are offered, and friendly competitions among teams are encouraged! Since its launch in 2020, the co-founder of the concept has successfully opened seven locations in the UK and, at the time, announced exciting expansion plans for the US, starting with Texas! He was confident that the brand will become a staple of the local community and turned to COREcruitment to team up and assist with the recruitment at their new location.

The Project

We were tasked to find a General Manager who has knowledge and experience working in the local Texan market. This individual needed to have drive, be proactive, be the ‘feet on the ground,’ and represent the team for the US.

Our client wanted someone senior who had worked for multiple outlets with a growing brand and not afraid to get their hands dirty. They needed someone who had great relationships with vendors, could negotiate business confidently, and be a vital asset in the geographic expansion of the group.

This search started as a private and confidential role due to the client team wanting to strategically plan the announcement alongside a launch event in the US. We find a lot of our clients coming to us with these types of roles, which we are more than happy to cater to.

Our Approach

The first step was to utilize our existing contacts through our database. We used the brief to think of competitor brands and contact candidates that would suit the job requirements and role. We also have lots of success through referrals from senior clients and candidates, so even if candidates are not actively looking themselves, we are lucky enough to connect other talent and build our database.

The second step was to post the job on all major job boards and of course our website where we have a large global following, ensuring the ad was kept vague enough but still enticing, keeping in mind this was a confidential role. Once a collection of eligible candidates had been put together; we call this the ‘shortlist’. The screening process could begin.

Our Process:

We offer a very thorough three-step screening process where we discuss technical ability, culture fit, and motivation. Before discussing any role with a candidate, we need to understand them in more detail to make sure it’s the right fit from their end, along with the expectations of the client. We then selected a shortlist of candidates who ‘ticked all the boxes’ and presented the resume and notes from the screen call to the client.

Once the team had shown interest in pursuing an interview with an individual, we would go back and introduce the company and role to the candidate, covering in detail the position’s responsibilities, goals, and expectations, as well as detail on the company culture, management team, structure, and benefits. (The order was only done this way as the role was private and confidential.)We then moved onto interviews.

As the client was based in the UK, we took the lead to work around schedules and time zones to ensure a stress-free, seamless set-up of Zoom calls with various team members. Once the interview process was complete, we conducted two reference checks from the candidate’s previous managers to have on file and present to the team.

The Result

Our client was delighted to fly over the selected candidate to the new location in Texas and make the announcement of the new opening and meet the successful candidate in-person to offer them the position of General Manager!

We have been very excited to be a part of this process, watch this amazing company grow and succeed!
