That was a common phrase when I worked in factory world. The machine goes down...someone didn’t do something...a key player is sick. ‘A glorious mess’ described the church at Corinth. They had pastor faves. There was division. There was sexual sin. They were suing each other. They were getting drunk at the Lord’s Table. They misunderstood the gifts. They were messed up! Still Paul offered thanks for them in 1 Corinthians 1:4-9. They had received God’s grace: He had saved them and was changing them. They were not lacking in the gifts department. They couldn’t jump out of God’s saving and sustaining grace. Paul did challenge them to examine their salvation to see if it was real (2 Corinthians 13:8) but there were many genuine believers who were doing selfish, sinful stuff. Christians are in the process of becoming more like Christ...and that’s a lifelong process. Sometimes people have a high bar when they are looking for a church and as they get to know some in the body, they start to see the
blind spots. They see some things that makes their ‘naughty nine’ or ‘terrible ten’ list.... and they get rattled... and they drift away to find a new church home...until that church doesn’t meet their standard. Believers trip and slip a n d
we’re to challenge each other, in love, to change by God’s grace. Spirit - empowered change takes a lifetime. The longer you hunker down with a body of believers committed to the Word and discipleship,

slide into sin...but (403) we’re not to run. We disciple (Matthew 28:1820). We’re to pray for them and care for them and confront them and console them and hear them confess... and them with us. Being a part of a local church body should be like a marriage: we’re in it for the haul. Marriages are not to make us happy, but to make us holy. In the early stages of marriage we start to see blind spots and

ith over 75 years of exposure in Medicine Hat, the Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 1933 Dunmore Road S.E., is the only Sabbath keeping church in southern Alberta. This church is fully dedicated to serving God through Jesus Christ in action and love in the community, in education, and through ministry. Anyone is invited to attend services, prayer meetings, Bible studies, and church activities throughout the week. Saturday mornings (Sabbath) from 9:30 - 10:45 are Bible study (Sabbath School) for all ages followed by church service at 10:45 – noon. A
potluck meal is available afterward. Services can be seen on You-Tube Live Streaming through SDA Church. Music is available every third Sabbath for senior homes in the city. On various Sundays, Men’s Ministry get together

Some say that they are fine with faith and believe in God “and all that,” but they have no use for the church. It’s interesting though that those same studies link church attendance and involvement with the health benefits noted above. That is no surprise either. The church is God’s plan as well. Community is God’s plan for humanity from the very beginning.

When the economy slowed down last year, we didn’t step back, we stepped up, offering more services and more products to people.” The family-owned dealership sells travel trailers, fifth wheels, motorhomes and toy haulers. Manufactures have introduced new floor plans for 2017 and many of the fifth wheels and trailers come with automatic levelling, automat-

"A place where you can feel at home." The Cypress View Foundation was officially opened on November 9th, 1960, with Dr. J. Donovan Ross, Minister of Health representing the Alberta Government. Cypress View Foundation is a non-profit seniors housing facility designed for low to moderate income seniors that are 65 years and over. There are three types of housing independent seniors apartments, Lodge accommodations, and supportive living 3 care. The City of Medicine Hat, Town of Redcliff and Cypress County saw the need for a senior facility that would provide a supportive living for those seniors. Our goal is to provide seniors with low - moderate income, social or other needs with housing options. We are designed for those who cannot afford private care facilities. The intent was to bring all the lodges together under one roof and to upgrade them to the new codes and standards. In 1992, the new Cypress View wing was opened. In 1993, the Teeoda wing was re-opened. And in 1994 the Wild Rose wing was re-opened. Since then, the dining room has been expanded {which is central to all the wings), a solarium was built, and a new front recreation/ common area was added. Local Medicine Hat residents often refer to the Foundation as "The Teeoda", but it has always been called the Cypress View Foundation. In 2009 an additional wing, Sunrise Vista was opened for assisted living. The Cypress View Foundation continues to look at ways of improving services to its residents and excelling at making them feel at home.
