Grassy Lake Fertilizer Terminal In February 2019, Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) announced they were investing over $41 million to build a new fertilizer terminal in Grassy Lake, AB, their third since 2017. Construction on the state-of-the-art facility was completed in 2020. The new terminal will blend and distribute a variety of crop-nutrition products, and have 34,400 metric tonnes of storage capacity. It will take as little as six minutes to fill a super B trailer, with rail access able to accommodate up to 110 train cars, which is one of the bonus features for this terminal. An administration building and a three-bay maintenance shop will complete the site; once finished,

five full-time and two seasonal Team Members will be required to operate the facility. A second bonus feature of this fertilizer terminal is the heated warehouse to store nitrogen stabilizers, which help crops retain essential nitrogen longer in the growing season for optimal yield. Should I Hire a General Contractor? Home or office improvements can be a challenge, we all look for suggestions and helpful tips on how to not only get the result we want but also how to do it in a practical and affordable way.
A GC can also warranty their work. If something goes wrong most will come out and make it right. After all, they want more business from you, and good ones stand behind their work and reputation.
With DIY television shows and all kinds of instructional videos on the internet these days it makes some people wonder if they really need a general contractor?
Think about looking for a GC that will work together WITH you on your space and also may allow you to be involved with some of the trade work if you desire (perhaps you would like to do some of your own demo or painting?) The parts you may not know much about (like permits, trades, scheduling, etc.) can be taken care of without your worry, by your experienced contractor.
A general contractor will establish peace of mind for the owners by managing and guiding the entire renovation process and ensure the most efficient completion of the project! Focus on hiring a GC who you think you will be comfortable communicating with, can meet your deadlines, and also maintain quality workmanship.
