How It All Began… After a health battle that left her searching for alternatives, Charlotte Bonogofsky founded Icy Mountain Water Co. in the basement of her duplex in 1992. Originally, she wanted a health product store. Her goal was to help people conquer their depression and other health issues. A small distiller that produced one gallon of pure water every 8 hours was purchased.
She started giving the water away with the herbs and vitamins she sold but soon there were so many people coming that a larger distiller had to be purchased. After a while people requested the purchase of 5-gallon bottles of water so more distillers were purchased. Soon heath products and bottled water consumed every corner of that tiny duplex, and it was time to find a new location.

Her first storefront was only 300 square feet but the rent was cheap and it became apparent why when the temperature started to fall and winter set in. There was no heat in her tiny part of the building. Having outgrown that store in a matter of only one year (and being tired of wearing a parka and gloves at work) she packed up with her one employee and moved to the next store with double the space at 650 square feet. After 2 years she was given an eviction notice by the City and given 10 months to find a new location. A new roadway was coming through her half the building. This led to the current location of more than 7000 square feet. Over the years her husband Neil, and daughters Brandy & Amanda, have joined Charlotte in the family business… not to mention the newest addition, Charlotte’s grandson who came www.digitalcopyworks.com
to be in 2012. You will often see Cayson, or at least hear him. Also, for a short time her Mother was also employed. Now along with the family a team of dedicated staff members helps to provide the service you have come to expect from Icy Mountain Water Co. In 2005 we decided to purchase the distributorship for Riplees Ranch Holistic Cat and Dog food. When we were approached with the opportunity, we quickly saw how incredible it was. Our 11 year old ShihTzu at the time turned into a puppy again and we got to enjoy her for 6 more years! Her grey fur turned back into all its vibrant colors, along with her hipper puppy attitude. ALL of her health issues went away!! This Canadian Made, Grain Free, Holistic recipe is preserved with vitamins and has no artificial colors, dies or preservatives. South Country dedicated to communities South Country Co-op Ltd has always been dedicated to our communities and the people that drive them, which is abundantly clear when it comes to our pharmacies. Pharmacists are the last step between the patient and their medication, which is why pharmacists’ primary mandate is to ensure the prescription is compatible for each person. Additionally, their records have to be meticulous on each patient to ensure you get the best, most accurate, and safe assistance. Our pharmacy staff wake up every day with the goal of helping our patients and making a difference in their lives, and our communities as a whole. The dedication and attention they pay to each patient is the same, but sometimes can cause unintended inconvenience to other people when tasks take more time than anticipated.

It seems these days that everyone is talking about “Gut Health”. A simple definition of a healthy gut is when there is a proper balance of good and bad bacteria. Unfortunately, our lifestyles today often encourage an overgrowth of bad bacteria; poor diets starve the good bacteria while feeding the bad and use of antibiotics not only kill the bad bugs but also the good bacteria that our gut so desperately needs. It is usually diagnosed after all other diseases or disorders are eliminated, and is solely based on symptoms, as there are no diagnostic tests that can be diagnosed with 100% accuracy.

There are several theories on the causes including, but not limited to; physical trauma, extreme psychological stress or an unknown trigger(s) which causes a flare which slowly increases over time. It is also believed to arise from an overactive nervous system. The most common complaint from people suffering from fibromyalgia is pain and fatigue. It can be slight to severe and can change from day to day. The pain can range from dull to stabbing, usually in the muscles and joints. It involves several areas on the skin that have tender points which, if touched, can increase the pain. Fibromyalgia also results in a loss of restorative sleep with occasional morning stiffness and/or spasms and can leave the person with a feeling of overwhelming fatigue. commonly known as “fibrofog”. Repetitive movements, due to chores or hobbies, can also increase pain symptoms and cause numbness, tingling and/ or burning sensations. This can cause a decrease in daily activities. All of these (and several other symptoms) can also lead to feelings of anxiety or depression. A new massage technique offers hope for sufferers. It shows great promise in helping to decrease fibromyalgia symptoms. It involves a short assessment focusing on 6 points to determine both whether the client has fibromyalgia and the areas of restrictions. This does NOT involve the trigger points, or ‘knots’, and will not aggravate symptoms. The technique uses gentle pressure and lymph drainage techniques to focus on releasing specific fascial restrictions (fascia being the connective tissue between organs) in the abdomen and the meninges and membranes in the brain. This helps reduce abnormal pulls on the muscles and nerves that may be escalating the body’s response to the pain. It takes approximately 1 to 3 treatments to decrease up to 75 percent of the symptoms. This technique can help increase quality sleep, energy levels and cognitive abilities. It can decrease dizziness,
light headedness, anxiety/ depression, pain and digestive issues. This massage can also benefit clients with other neuroinflammatory diseases like chronic fatigue syndrome, multiple sclerosis, mononucleosis and posttreatment cancer clients. The abdominal portion of the massage can help with IBS, Crohns and Colitis. The brain work with the meninges can help with whiplash, concussions and anxiety/depression.

By Tara Stricker-Woodhouse I worked in the social services for 20 years but had always wanted to take a deeper more holistic approach with clients, work that really got them to the root of their problems and included a spiritual component. Then, my life was turned upside down when my husband passed away, and I knew I could wait no longer, I had to pursue what my intuition had been telling me for years. I looked into various forms of coaching but it was "Whole Person Coaching" that jumped out at me because it includes all of who you are and comes from the philosophy that you know what is best for you and the coach is just there to bring out that wisdom. When I signed up for the coaching course, I never expected (or could have imagined) how it would change my life. I went into it with the desire to support others, but I never realized how much it would have (and still does) support me. I can't say it enough, I think

everyone deserves a coach, and this is not about thinking that everyone is broken. Instead, it is a belief that we all have areas of our lives where we are not shining our brightest! It may not be that we are suffering, but rather that life could be so much more. I think a lot of us go through life surviving, settling for an OK life when we could be thriving in a fabulous life! I went into coaching thinking I am pretty self-aware, that I have a lot of skills, and that my life is good...boy I was wrong! It wasn't even on my radar that my level of happiness and self-understanding could be this high! This does not mean that my life is always all positive, there are still storm clouds. But what I (and my clients) have gained is a way to handle those difficult times with strength, trust and the ability to tune into our inner wisdom. I have learned that I am fully capable of www.digitalcopyworks.com
handling life's challenges, we all are. In the past, when a storm cloud rolled into my life, I would go into my head and catastrophisize the whole thing. I would over think to the point of obsessing. Even after the storm had passed I was still thinking, recycling through fear, shame and thoughts of how I should have and could have done better, Then, when another storm showed up on the horizon, I would go into hyper drive trying to control the situation, reliving the last storm in mind and body. Holy anxiety!
Now, I have the confidence to enjoy the day rather than living in fear of an approaching storm. And when one does appear, I take a deep breath, brave the storm and trust that it will pass. I use the skills I have gained to weather the storm, and at times, even find myself enjoying the challenge. I see this same growth in my clients and it is amazing to watch them blossom! This is why I think everyone deserves a coach. We all deserve to realize our natural potential and to fully shine our light and thrive in an authentic life!

Historians tell us that the practice of Colon Hydrotherapy or, in its most basic form, the enemas was first used by the Egyptians. The Evers Papyrus, of the 14th century B.C., and the Edwin Smith Papyrus (c. 1700 B.C.), both mention enemas and give directions for the use of the enema. The Essene Gospel of Peace Book 1, the health teachings of Jesus Christ, teaches that if you do not cleanse the bowels with water that has been warmth by the sun you will never relieve yourself of disease. Today some modern Colon Hydrotherapy equipment use Ultra Violate light to kill bacteria and viruses prior to entering your body. The 17th Century became known as the “age of enema”, or the “age of clysters. It was an acceptable practice in Parisian society to enjoy as many as three or four enemas a day, the belief being that an internal washing or “lavement” was essential to well being. By the late 19th Century and early 20th Century, with the advent of rubber, the enema or clyster slowly gave way to colon hydrotherapy equipment, which improved the cleansing of the colon. Dr. Kellogg reported in the 1917 Journal of American Medicine that in the treatment of gastrointestinal disease in over 40,000 cases, he had used surgery in only twenty cases. The rest were helped as a result of cleansing the bowels, diet, and exercise. Colon Hydrotherapy eventually gained the attention of James A. Wiltsie, M.D., who contended that our knowledge of the normal and abnormal physiology of the colon, and of its pathology and management, has not kept pace with that of many organs and systems of the body.” He went on to say, “As long as we continue to assume that the colon will take care of itself, just that long will we remain in complete ignorance of perhaps the most important source of ill health in the whole body.” Now in the 21st Century, Colon Hydrotherapy is gaining popularity over enemas due to the fact that the water is purified prior to being used, and it will clean the whole colon, as opposed to enemas in which the water is not purified and does not clean the whole colon.
