Winter Newsletter 2011

Bianca’s Letter Welcome to the winter edition of JCAAA’s quarterly newsletter! Winter has not only brought the cold to town, it has also brought quite a few changes to JCAAA. Jessica Edwards recently resigned from her position as Recreation Officer. Jess has moved on to fulltime work with an events promotion company and we wish her all the best in her new role. Stella is acting as the Recreation Officer and will be managing the same programs Jess did. See Stella’s details below. Last week I met with Nicole Shilo from the Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centre. She shared some great information regarding the new Respite South website. For those of you who don't know, Respite South is an online information service about disability respite in the southern metropolitan region of Melbourne. It is for people with a disability aged 6 and above and their carers. It has current details about local and state-wide respite services, as well as lots of local news, events and activities. Check it out, and while you're on the front page sign up for the free weekly e-newsletter. You can post your own activities and find out all about what is happening near you! Visit Respite South at: www.respitesouth.org.au. See inside for more great events and activities to warm you up over the coming months. Kind regards, Bianca
