Christmas Events in Copplestone

Tree Planting at the Recreation Field The Pullen Recreation Field has been a hive of activity in recent weeks with an energetic group of volunteers, organised by John Mason, tidying up and clearing out hedges in preparation for tree planting. Initially volunteers armed with grass strimmers, hedge trimmers, forks & spades cleared out the undergrowth to make space for the new saplings, which were given free of charge by the Woodland Trust. Then on Saturday 9th November helpers, both adults and children, planted the 420 hedging saplings along the bank near the road. The working party were lucky with the weather and, as there was plenty of help, the saplings were all planted by midday.
