Within Reggio Emilia inspired Nurseries and Preschools.
Experience an educational journey with children in our nurseries and preschools, alongside Learning by Languages® teachers and pedagogists
Our programme offers the opportunity to visit Reggio Emilia-inspired schools for children aged 0-6 and participate in shadowing experiences with teachers, atelieristas, and pedagogists. You will have the chance to observe how pedagogical principles are applied in everyday practice by watching adults and children interact in real-life settings. We also provide thematic workshops and Atelier experiences.
The services participating in the ED-EX TRAINING programme are located in Reggio Emilia and its province, as well as in Bologna, Milan, Rome, and Vicenza.
Many opportunities and topics to enrich your skills and make them more effective.

FOOD EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE
Exploring the Languages of Food
Food Atelier: an immersive experience in the kitchen of an Nursery in Reggio Emilia, led by a chef and an atelierista.
This in-depth exploration focuses on the languages of food, using an aesthetic and multisensory approach to engage with ingredients through taste, touch, sight, and smell, while connecting food with expressive languages. The colours, aromas, shapes, and textures become the main elements of a rich and inspiring daily atelier practice. The sensory qualities of food allow for the discovery of new attributes based on the concepts of variation and physical, chromatic, and perceptual transformation. The kitchens of the nurseries transform into fascinating learning environments, spaces for exchange and dialogue about eating habits, cultural models, sustainability, and ecological awareness.
ATELIER EXPERIENCE
Deepening expressive languages
The 100 languages are a metaphor for describing the 100 ways in which children and humans, in general, know, communicate, and represent themselves; it acknowledges the multiple forms of knowledge that belong to each of us. In our pedagogical project, great importance is placed on the atelier and expressive activities as a means to foster the development of creativity and the various forms of intelligence inherent in all children.
You can choose from: graphic and pictorial language, which supports the development of representational codes; clay, which is malleable and capable of shaping children’s projects; and light, which encourages an exploration of physical phenomena through a sense of wonder and amazement.
STEAM EXPERIENCE
Exploring Technologies for Education
Our approach to science encourages observation of physical and natural phenomena using both analogue and digital tools. Children and adults can discover the fundamental phases of the scientific method, ask questions, formulate hypotheses and theories, and test them through experimentation, fostering critical thinking and creativity. This experiential training utilises digitally enhanced learning environments, such as I-Vulcani, early childhood technologies, educational robots, and coding apps to support the development of computational thinking.
GREEN EXPERIENCE
Deepening Outdoor Education and Ecological Teaching
We share a vision of environmental education that not only focuses on teaching sustainability but also promotes ecological thinking. We believe it is essential to support the learning of fundamental life principles and the values that underpin them. In this sense, it is important for both children and adults to have multiple experiences with nature, both within educational settings and outside, in connection with the surrounding environment.
We propose visits to green spaces and an atelier to explore plant life and natural environmental phenomena, observing changes and transformations in the ecosystem.
MATERIAL
WORLD EXPERIENCE
Exploring the Value of Informal Materials for constructions
Building is a process through which we can measure the world, interpret and communicate, investigate space, and design boundaries and spatial constraints. The space of construction supports many skills: mathematics, statics, spatial intelligence, representation abilities, harmony of forms, and sequencing by shape, among others.
An ED EX programme to discover the constructive and imaginative potential of various materials, both structured and unstructured: objects that can be reinterpreted, observed, explored, stacked, and combined.
LANDSCAPE EXPERIENCE
Exploring the interaction between Education and Landscape
An immersive experience to be lived in the nurseries of the Reggio Emilia Apennines.
DIALOGUE WITH THE LANDSCAPE
In education, the concept of “landscape” offers a broad spectrum of perceptual, aesthetic, representational, design, and evocative elements. It suggests a harmony between humans and nature, as well as social and environmental aspects. The nurseries of the Reggio Emilia Apennines exemplify the interconnection between these two dimensions: observing nature and exploring the territory are integral to the daily experiences of children and the relationships they build.
All courses are aimed at groups of pedagogists, teachers, educators, and education professionals, and can accommodate a maximum of 30 participants.
At the end of the course, a Learning by Languages® certificate of participation is awarded.
