The Central Node Housing is a housing unit in East Boston. My design was based around the idea of incorporating a central node in East Boston near Maverick Square and using the node to carve away the site into multiple buildings. These buildings are designed to bring people from the cityscape into the greenscape on the green way walking path. The facade of the building reflects the cutting away and the city versus urbanscape, with the exterior facades on the end being heavy material and the interior facades being glass with greenery covering panels on the walking path side and galvanized steel panels on the urban side. There are 10 different housing units ranging from studios to 3 beds with the ground floor being small businesses.
