Welcome to Beyond the Classroom (BTC), where learning extends far beyond the confines of traditional classrooms and curriculum. BTC is a dynamic initiative focused on fostering growth, community, and exploration through activities and experiences that transcend conventional educational boundaries.
We believe that the most profound learning occurs when students engage in rich, shared experiences within authentic contexts. That’s why BTC is committed to opening doors and taking students out into the vast expanse of God’s creation. From outdoor adventures to community service
projects, BTC offers opportunities for students to immerse themselves in hands-on learning experiences that leave a lasting impact.
Join us as we journey beyond the classroom and discover the wonders of the world and forge connections that extend far beyond the walls of our school. Welcome to a realm where learning knows no bounds; welcome to Beyond the Classroom.
“Children still need a childhood with dirt, mud, puddles, trees, sticks & tadpoles”.

At CCC, we recognise that parents are their child’s first educators, greatest influencers, and biggest advocates. Our mission as RITE Journey teachers and staff is to partner with parents in navigating the challenging teenage years. Together, we will equip your child as they transition from childhood to the magnificent future that God has planned for them.
Our goal is for each young person to recognise their God-given gifts and talents and find their worth and hope in Him. The RITE Journey year-long program is designed to:
• Acknowledge and celebrate the shift into adulthood;
• Offer conversations and experiences to guide this transition;
• Foster connections with positive adult role models;
• Educate and include parents/carers in the process;
• Connect students with their strengths;
• Build self-awareness;
• Discover lasting hope and faith in Jesus, their Lord and Saviour.

There are many opportunities for students, staff and families to get involved with service at CCC.
Since 2006, CCC has been working in the Western Province of the Solomon Islands by providing resources, teaching and fellowship. Students and staff teams have been involved in many projects including establishing the first Christian radio station in the West; rebuilding our sister school in Maravari after the 2007 earthquake; and providing dental hygiene/reading glasses clinics.
This trip is an incredible opportunity for young people to step outside their comfort zone and reach out to others from different cultures and backgrounds. In 2021, the team travelled to a number of rural and indigenous communities including Charleville, Quilpe, Wyandra and Cunnamulla. The team partnered with local churches, Chaplains and organisations to undertake visits to local primary schools and nursing homes. The team also undertook pastoral visits to local properties and organised community events for children and families.
CCC Build Bootcamp builds rapport between the students and staff through a variety of physical activities and challenges. The program challenges students beyond their physical limits while developing resilence and perseverance, and learning to work together as a team. CCC Build Bootcamps cater for both our Secondary young men and women.
CCC Serve is a program open to students in Years 6 to 11 who have a heart for service and a desire to learn and develop their catering skills. Students are provided with a variety of different opportunities each term to hone their service skills through activities including catering sit-down lunches, grazing platters, and assisting with set up and service at College events.
As part of the CCC Build initiative, students train for key events throughout the year. In May, the team tackles The Kokoda Challenge; a demanding trek that honours the bravery of those who served in the 1942 Kokoda Campaign and builds endurance, resilience, mateship, and camaraderie.
