Preparing and Presenting an Effective Appeal Cooley Law School hosted “The Dos and Don’ts of Preparing and Presenting an Effective Appeal Before the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit” on April 13. The event, which was presented by the Federal Bar Association, Western Michigan Chapter, featured four judges from the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit (from left, Judge David W. McKeague, Senior Judge Richard F. Suhrheinrich, Judge Raymond M. Kethledge, and Judge Helene N. White).
Boxing Her Way to a Law Degree Valerie Smulders’ life changed when she began dating the man who is now her husband. Soon, she was reviewing contracts for his professional boxing career, which led her to attend Cooley to pursue a career in law.
