How Has The Baking Industry Evolved Baking products have taken a place in modern-day societies. Our birthdays and parties are incomplete without bakery products. Baking techniques are evolving and new healthier bakery products are coming into the market. The history of bakery products is as old and primitive as we can think. Baking industry evolved in various civilizations in the past and left its mark. Baking equipment also evolved with the passage of time. We are discussing various civilization and the evolution of the baking industry: Ancient Egyptian and baking industry: Ancient Egyptians were famous due to their baking skills. They used yeast for baking at 2600 BC. Egyptians were fond of sweet things, they had used Honey in place of sugar. They also had used dates, fruit juice to sweeten the bakery products. People have now developed bakery products by using the old processes used by Egyptians. Egyptians had learned the art of baking from Babylons. The Egyptian prepared bread from Emmer wheat, which is difficult to make as compared to wheat flour. The Roman empire and baking: Roman had established new techniques in the bakery items. They had developed a guide for baking different recipes. There were around 300 pastries in Rome around 1 AD. In Rome, sweetcakes, sacrificial cakes, pastry cakes, pretzels were common in rich people’s parties. Roman used a chimney oven to make different bakery items. Roman had developed different types of recipes and baking, they had developed early forms of Pizza. Lentaculum was a special type of bread. Bakery items were common in ancient Rome, as richness was found in various delicious foods. Ottomans sweets and bakery items: Ottomans were famous due to their sweet taste, most of the Ottomans’ time sweet and bakery items still famous in modern-day Turkey. Ottomans had bakery and sweets in their traditions. Ottomans sweets are Baklava, Noah pudding ( Ashure), Turkish delight candies (Lokum), Biscuit syrup, and fried sweets.
