At Continental Electronics, we empower our community to reach its full potential through local scholarships, donation drives, and active participation in community events. Discover more about our community involvement below!

Scholarships

CEC invests in the next generation of leaders by partnering with the Southeast Dallas Chamber of Commerce through supporting high school graduates interested in STEM degrees. Our aim is to empower bright minds for future innovation.

Donation Drives

In recent years we have assisted with donation drives during the holidays to help Dallas families in need and provide children with the necessary materials for their education. It’s such a privilege to have the ability to support our community.

Community Events

“Carry the Load”

For the past several years on Memorial Day weekend, our team at CEC joins the Dallas “Carry The Load” event, honoring military, veterans, first responders, and their families. Our “Boosh” team marched in remembrance of Jeremie Border, son of 35-year CEC employee, Mary Border. Schools

CEC actively supports local area schools, including Truett Elementary, through financial contributions. By investing in education, we inspire future leaders to dream big and positively impact the world while fostering exceptional learning experiences.

Our equipment produces both the loudest and quietest radio transmissions possible, at the same time, from VLF to VHF.

Radio waves have been in existence since the mid-1800s but we use them in applications that are considered cutting-edge and state-of-the-art.

Submarines all over the world use our transmitters to communicate up to people on land.

We break the record every day for both the furthest link ever sent and the furthest link ever received, due to the Voyager 1 space probe being way outside our solar system.

Our transmission equipment has been featured in hit movies such as The Hunt for Red October, Contact and James Bond Movie, Golden Eye.

The Mars Rover and Osiris-REX spacecrafts receive instructions through CEC transmitters.

EMPLOYEE BENEFITS

Holidays

9 paid holidays each year.

Paid Time Off (PTO)

• 15 Days each year for 0 - 3 years of service (accrued each pay period).

• + 5 more days after the 3rd year / + Another 5 days after the 9th year

This all-purpose plan provides pay to employees for time off due to vacation, illness, or personal business.

401k Retirement Plan

• Eligible 1st of the month thirty (30) days following date of hire.

• CEC matches what you contribute, up to 6%! The match is paid right away on your check since it’s a safe harbor plan.

Education Assistance

Eligible after one year of service, tuition reimbursement with required GPA based on Company policy. Pre-Tax Payroll Deductions

Employee costs for Medical and Dental Insurance coverage are deducted by payroll on a pre-tax basis. When you enroll in Medical, you have two additional options for savings:

• HSA - Health Savings Account, supplement to Medical

OR:

• FSA - Flexible Spending Account, supplement to Medical

Full-Time Employees

Family Benefits:

• Eligible 1st of the month following date of hire.

• Medical – Available for purchase – Three (3) options to choose from with different deductibles and co-pay requirements. Company shares cost.

• Dental – Available for purchase – Two (2) traditional plan options to choose from, one with and one without orthodonthia.

• Vision – Available for purchase – Traditional Plan with annual exam, contacts, frames and lens options. Company shares cost.

The benefits described here may be modified and/or terminated from time to time. Employees will be notified of any changes as they occur or as soon as possible after the changes are made.

Full-Time Employees Benefits:

• Eligible 1st of the month following date of hire.

• Life – free basic Life and Basic Accidental Death and Dismemberment (one-time annual salary to a maximum of $250,000) provided by the company for all employees.

• Additional Life and AD&D up to maximum of $300,000 may be purchased by the employee (guaranteed issue up to $150,000). Dependent Life for spouse and dependent children is also available for purchase if employee purchased additional coverage.

• Short-Term Disability – Provided by the Company for all fulltime employees, for free. Weekly benefit amount of 60% of weekly earnings up to a maximum of $1,500.

• Long-Term Disability – Provided by the Company for all full-time employees, for free. The plan covers the employee until he/she reaches age 65. Benefit percentage 60% of monthly wages, subject to a maximum benefit of $6,000.
