America, Canada, and Mexico. See North America. The Grand Canyon. The Hollywood Hills. Niagara Falls. And a secluded Cancun beach that only the locals know about. Share North America. Meet 18-35 year olds from all over the world. Make friends for a week, then know them forever. Love North America. We’re a family-owned business and we’ve been traveling the world since 1962. We’ll never stop. It’s always different. It’s always fun. It’s always an adventure. That’s the Contiki spirit.

Meet

Contiki

Here’s why people come from all over the world to see America, Canada & Mexico with us. Only for 18-35s. No younger, no older. Meet people your age. Make friends from all over the world, who love traveling & want to have a good time.

Lots of vacation. Less hassle. Lugging a heavy backpack in the rain? Getting lost? Hanging around, wasting time? Not with Contiki. We do the hard work for you. So you can get on with having a good time. We know there’s a ton to cover, so while you’re here why not connect with some of our other North America tours? Many link up with one another, so you can really experience this area in-depth. See the ‘Mix + Match’ section on the tour pages for options. You can even ‘Flip your trip’ & choose to travel a number of North American tours in reverse. Check out the maps on the tour pages for more info.

The best parts. And more of them. The best time of day to see the sun set over the Grand Canyon? We’ll tell you. The tastiest tacos in Mexico? We’ll show you. The most amazing views over Canada’s glaciers? We’ll take you there.

More extras. For less. Your Contiki tour gets you lots of extras, for no extra cash. Imagine cruising at sunset, drink in hand on a catamaran in San Fran? Riding in a limo down ‘the Strip’ in Vegas with champagne? Or having a picnic in the breathtaking Canadian Rockies? All included, plus much more. You’ll know exactly what you get for your money, so you can plan your trip (& budget) before you go. More on pages 7 & 8-9. Then there are the extras you can’t buy. Like charging your phone & gadgets as you travel. There’s more unique Contiki extras on page 12.

Free time. Your time. All our tours have free time, every day. So you’ll get plenty of time to do your own thing. Explore the backstreets, find a great place for a bite, or just sit back & chill. It’s your free time & it’s completely flexible. There’s even more things you can do in your free time with our Explore More optional activities. Whatever you’re into - art, adventure sports, music or food - there’s loads of choice & we’ll figure it out. We’ve even negotiated great prices for you too. More on pages 10-11.

Still exploring. 49 years on. In 1962 New Zealander John Anderson went to London. He had an idea. He rented a minibus. He filled it with young people who wanted to travel. They toured Europe together, and Contiki was born. 49 years later, the Contiki spirit is stronger than ever. We travel to even more places in North America - & beyond. We have more fun. We meet more people. And we’re trusted by travelers all over the world.

Know. Then go. Check contiki.com to see our latest tours & Definite Departure dates (our most popular tours that are guaranteed to go). You can also connect with us on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube & Flickr.

ON THE ROA D

OUR TEAM With our expert on-road team on hand, get ready for good times. Your Tour Manager & Driver are what really make the difference. They take the hassle out of traveling. They know their stuff just like the locals - where you’re going, the must see sights & places off the beaten track too. They learned the ropes on an intensive training trip, but it’s their passion that is the Contiki difference. For our crew, it’s not just a job. Like you, they’re travelers who love to explore & share their passion for travel with you.

GETTING AROUND North America is a pretty big place with tons to experience, so on some trips we fly too. This means you’ll get where you’re going faster - so you can spend more time exploring in the places that count. Our coaches are some of the best in North America & we update them regularly to make sure they’re good for the environment too. Sit back in your reclining seat & chill, or tune in while your Tour Manager gives you the low down on where you’re headed. There’s power outlets for charging your phone & camera too - so there’s no chance they’ll run out of juice (don’t forget your adapter plug).

Ski Tahoe During Winter, departures of 3 of our existing year-round tours include time in the snow playground of Lake Tahoe.

Which tours

Itinerary

• Winter California Highlights • Winter L.A. to The Bay • Winter Wild Western

Winter Wild Western

These winter itineraries are exactly the same as the regular year round itineraries, right up until the day they depart Las Vegas. After Vegas, they skip the visit to Yosemite, spend 1 night less in San Francisco & pack 3 fun-filled days of snow action at Lake Tahoe instead.

Winter California Highlights

When to go Can’t wait to go? Departures that include Ski Tahoe in the itinerary run from December 2010 to March 2011 & December 2011 to March 2012.

About Tahoe Lake Tahoe is one of North America’s most beautiful lakes & also one of it’s best ski resorts, straddling 2 states - California & Nevada. It’s the perfect blend of amazingly spectacular scenery, pristine mountains & a pumping nightlife. Where else can you find a place that offers all this natural beauty plus the 24 hour non-stop bling of Vegas-style casinos & clubs? Contiki travellers can choose to hit the slopes at 3 of Tahoe’s best ski areas including Heavenly, Kirkwood & Sierra-at-Tahoe. The average annual snowfall here is 10.67 metres, so fantastic conditions are the norm. And with so much great terrain, there’s a perfect balance of something for everyone – beginners, intermediates & advanced. Activities don’t just include skiing (both downhill & cross-country) & snowboarding, there’s lots to pick from including ice-skating & snowmobiling. Note: ski passes, equipment & clothing hire are not included in the tour price. Please visit contiki.com for more info.

If the reason for cancellation falls within the terms of any vacation insurance policy which you hold, then any such charges may, subject to the terms of your insurance policy, be refunded to you by the insurance company. 3.4 Any cancellation of additional services booked prior to and after your tour or resort booking, such as pre and post accommodation and transfers, that are cancelled within 14 days of the tour departure incur a 100% cancellation fee. 3.5 These cancellation fees are in addition to any cancellation fees that may be levied by your Travel Agent. 3.6 If flight changes are requested after the deposit has been received, or if flights are cancelled after tickets are issued, revision fees, change fees or Airline cancellation fees will be applicable and will be in addition to the above cancellation charges. Some airfares including published fares booked by Contiki, are totally non-refundable. 4. IF YOU CHANGE YOUR BOOKING 4.1 If after your booking has been confirmed, you wish to change to an alternate departure date or you wish to change to a different Contiki vacation, you may do so subject to availability and provided the new vacation date is also in this brochure. 4.2 A fee of C$30 per person will be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed unless the change increases the value of the booking. A change of tour date or tour itinerary within 45 days of departure date will be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply except when the change is to an earlier tour departure of equivalent or greater value in which case a C$30 per person amendment fee will be charged. 5. VACATION DETAILS AND CONDITIONS 5.1 Please read the brochure carefully for those items included in the price. If you do not so comply or if, in the Contiki Tour Manager’s or Representative’s opinion, you are not compatible with the general enjoyment and well being of other members on the tour or the smooth operation of the vacation itself, we reserve the right to refuse to let you continue with the tour. Furthermore you agree that your fellow travellers and any Contiki Representative has the right to travel/work in a safe environment. Any threats to their safety, well being or inappropriate behavior by you, whether verbal or physical, will be taken extremely seriously and may result in the immediate termination of your vacation.
