100% HANDMADE These bags are the Wayuu women’s culture and traditions. The making of each mochila takes around 20 days as it is all braided by hand.

Each mochila is simply unique, in design and color choices. These chic bags are a musthave for an easy use and stylish day look. It comes in three different sizes and because it’s handmade it can vary in sizes. It is perfect as an easy everyday bag on the shoulder or carried as a cross body bag.

WAYUU TRIBE Since my last travel to Colombia I have not only fallen in love with the country but also their beautiful handcrafted Wauyy bags made by women of the Wayuu tribe in the region of La Guajira placed by the coast of Colombia. The colors and patterns of the mochilas are inspired by the vivid surroundings of sand, sea, desert, sun and clear skies which are constant in the landscape. The delicate art of WayĂşu weaving is entirely made by hand and passed down from mother to daughter for generations.

DESIGN & PATTERNS The patterns of Wayuu tell the story of their culture and way of life. The Wayuu women are incredibly talented at crocheting designs and addition to crocheting they learn how to weave as well. The strap is usually braided and carries an interesting design that completes the Wayuu mochilas.
