Fireproof Insulation Batts
A fire-resistant insulation material is an important safety feature in your home. It can help limit the spread of fire and smoke, providing additional time for occupants to evacuate safely and reduce damage from the flames themselves. A variety of insulating materials are available with different fire ratings, but some of the most popular choices are fiberglass and mineral wool.
Fiberglass is made from spun glass fibers, combined with plastic polymers that make it essentially non-combustible. This makes it one of the most common insulation materials used today. It is available in a variety of forms, including blankets that are laid out like batting or spray foam that is sprayed on walls and ceilings as well as blown-in fiberglass attic insulation.

Despite its non-combustible nature, fiberglass insulation isn’t completely flame resistant. The kraft facings of blown-in fiberglass can catch fire, and these must be covered with fire retardant chemicals to be fully safe for residential use. Cellulose and spray foam insulation can also be flammable, but can be made more fire-resistant through the use of flame retardants.
The ROCKWOOL Thermal Insulation Cavity Batt is a fire rated insulation that provides added safety for homes and commercial projects. This fire rated insulation is BBA certified for all exposure zones, and is CE marked. It is also resistant against sagging over time, to deliver long term performance in your property. This product has been tested to meet the stringent AS 1530.1 Combustibility test for materials. Non-combustible insulation from Knauf Insulation helps to minimise the potential for fire, maintain structural integrity and limit the spread of smoke and fire from one part of the building to another, ensuring that occupants are able to escape unharmed.
