His four sons

Equipment for Little Elm

A

merica had an interesting year in 1969. We put a man on the moon. The Miracle Mets won the World Series. Charles Manson was terrorizing Los Angeles. And, the air conditioning trade was in its infancy in Dallas, Texas. Raymond Daniels worked for one of the first AC outfits in Big D. But in 1969, with only his tools and a truck, he ventured out on his own and formed Daniels Air. Daniels would take his four sons with him out on the job, weekends and after school. Frank retired in 1997, and now those four sons--Cary, Frank, Roger and Tracy-carry on Dad’s legacy with Daniels Air. Even though Roger tinkered with the idea of being a cross-country truck driver, since the four had grown up in the busi-

ness, it was an easy and natural move for the sons to take over the company. Daniels Air is evenly split 25 percent to each son, but there are different divisions and responsibilities within. Cary handles commercial construction; Roger residential painting; Frank plumbing. Tracy is in charge of day-to-day ops to make sure the whole machine runs well. When it comes to making decisions that impact the whole company, the brothers agree on most everything. Some decisions are no-brainers, like getting a new truck to replace a broken one. Service AC is the biggest division. Plumbing is the fastest growing, which began several years ago. Prior to heading plumbing, Frank worked on the AC side. continued on Page 16

exas First Rentals, a HOLT company, celebrated the opening of a new 12,000sf rental facility in Little Elm. To accommodate the growing Denton County, the new location is located on seven acres off Hwy. 380. The expansion is an indication of the rapid growth seen in the North Texas market, and with the increased development in the region, the demand proved to be a necessity for the company’s growth with this new state-of-the-art facility. “Providing superior products and services is a core part of our values-based mission. This facility will help us continue to do that,” says Don Myrick, general manager of Texas First Rentals. For over eight decades, the Holt family has been serving customers in the Texas

market and understands the importance of service, safety, quality and high performance. In 2015, the HOLT company founded Texas First Rentals, which now has 14 locations across Texas serving markets along the Texas I-35 corridor. Little Elm is the sixth location in the North Texas area. As an affiliate of HOLT CAT, providing first-in-class construction equipment rentals, including CAT machines, aerial work platforms, pumps, welders and more, is a priority for Little Elm. “Our investment in this new facility signifies our sustained commitment to providing the highest quality of service for our customers,” adds Myrick. Texas First Rentals is an equipment rental supplier. -cmw continued on Page 16

Coffee anyone?

R

aymond Construction recently finished a 50,000sf roasting facility for Parks Coffee. The facility is located next to Parks main headquarters in Carrollton, TX, at 1401 MacArthur Drive. Raymond Construction has been in business since 1952. Charles Raymond, who now owns the company, started working for Raymond Construction in 1976 after having a short career in the insurance industry. He recalled the early days remodeling old apartment complexes in Oaklawn. What’s unique about the project is that it incorporates a three-story office space into a coffee roasting facility. Parks has built this also to be a showcase as a sales instrument and not just as a production facility. The goal is for their customers to understand their process and their story better when walking into this facility. It has open space for packaging, three coffee roasters, including a new

custom built industrial roaster, plus tasting, training, office, social and retail space. Randy Parks, president of Parks Coffee, owned the adjoining building which is their headquarters, so Raymond Construction had to use their driveway and some of the truck yard to make this project work. The location of the project is at the corner of President George Bush Turnpike and Dickerson. The road in this location is fairly high so you are almost looking down at the building. The third floor was designed to look out over the freeway to the south. There’s a porch on the location that can be opened up for a south view of the highway. This is the third project that Raymond Construction has completed for Parks Coffee. Although Raymond Construction had never completed a roasting facility prior to this project, the company Parks Coffee Brewery
