What is the Red CPCS Trained Operator Card? ****************************************** CPCS is the construction plant competence scheme, which was launched in 2003 with an objective of providing the workers and employees with the standard sets of regulations for safety and proficient capability. The CPCS scheme provides the CPCS cards to the constructors in order to work in a construction firm. Under this, there are two cards issued to a worker: a Red CPCS Card and a Blue CPCS Card.
The red card is the trained operator card that is the first card a person will receive. The Red CPCS card ensures a level of core skills, knowledge with a competency that can be put in the workplace until it is measured as competent against the national standards. The Red CPCS card will be received after qualifying the specific CPCS tests. This CPCS card is valid for a time period of 2 years, after which up-gradation to the Blue competent card is feasible. It is a non-renewable card and the validity of this card can be extended. To get a Red CPCS card, one should give the theory CPCS test within a time period of 2 years. One should achieve the relevant CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test within this time period before giving the CPCS technical test.
