Mazio SKID Paver Provides Jobsite Agility, Versatility
The Mazio skid-steer-mounted SKID Paver is ideal for asphalt patching and paving of roads, pathways, bicycle tracks, parking lots, driveways and utility trenches.
With a 1.5 cu. yd. (1.4 cu m) hopper capacity, a paving width of up to 6.2 ft. (1.9 m) and a paving speed of 82 ft. (25 m) per minute, the SKID Paver can be installed on any type of ISO 24410 skid steer loader.
The unit works with hot or cold mix asphalt, paving asphalt thicknesses of 2 in. (5 cm) up to 10 in. (25 cm). Liquid propane gas (LPG) heaters keep material heated to 284 F (140 C). The wide 108.25 in. (275 cm) hopper receives asphalt material directly from the haul truck, allowing for front or side loading, and automatically feeds to a 7.9 in. (20 cm) auger. The machine’s retractable hydraulic screed allows the operator to work around obstacles.
The SKID Paver can be operated forward and backward from cab or via a wireless remote control, which provides the operator a complete view of the work in front of the paver. All functions operate hydraulically, including auger; screed lifting, lowering, and telescopic positioning; and hopper opening/closing.
The 1,567 lb. (711 kg) SKID Paver unit features an adapter plate, control panel box and remote control, feeding auger, selfleveling system, screed heat system and an optional vibrator. The hopper opens into two widths for versatility, and fully folds for easy transport.
The machine also will spread sand, gravel and stones, and concrete in flat layers, adding to its jobsite versatility, according to the manufacturer.

Fecon’s New 135VRT Mulcher Delivers More Horsepower
Fecon’s 135VRT CTL, which is available through select Vermeer dealerships, features a 132 hp 3.8 L Cummins Tier IV Final engine that delivers 10 percent more horsepower than its predecessor 125VRT, while a 50 gpm auxiliary attachment flow provides 119 hp to the Bull Hog forestry mulcher or other attachments.
A 16 gpm reserve allows full machine control without loss of attachment performance. Designed for use in the woods, this new model features all steel hoods, and standard cage guard and limb risers for greater protection and durability. A full forestry spec cab features ¾ in. polycarbonate front door and ½ in. polycarbonate side windows along with level 2 FOPS and a compete guarding package. A more spacious, comfortable operator station includes an 8-in. color display. There are no cross bars on the doors or windows, providing unobstructed visibility.
Improved loader arm design also enhances attachment visibility. Equipped with a bite limiting rotor to maintain rotor RPMs, the 135VRT easily mulches material to 8-in. in diameter, according to the manufacturer.
This new model features 4,150 ROC with integrated counterweight or hydraulic winch kit for improved balance with Fecon Bull Hog mulchers. A 52-gal. fuel tank allows nearly double the run time between fill-ups. Full coverage fuel tank guarding safeguards against damage while working, and improved sealing prevent debris ingestion.
Hinged belly pans and tilting cooler and condenser guards allow easier cleaning. Sealed fuse panels and improved wiring harness routing enhances durability.
Each 135VRT comes with a VM602SS Bull Hog forestry mulcher equipped with bite limiting rotor for a finer output while maintaining rotor RPMs. Rotor fitted with 30 carbide or double-sided tools.

Epiroc, a productivity partner for the mining and infrastructure industries, introduced the new V Cutter for trenching and quarrying.
A seemingly simple solution with an extraordinary effectiveness, the V Cutter enables energy savings of up to 40 percent, according to the manufacturer.
“The efficiency issues connected with trenching have been met with advanced, but expensive solutions. We’re pleased to present an alternative that will save time and money in virtually every aspect, from investment to energy and wear on the carrier. And it’s all achieved by the angles of the drum,” said Gordon Hambach, global business manager of hydraulic attachment tools at Epiroc.
The reliability, robustness and ease of use of the Epiroc drum cutters have been taken to a new level with the VC 2000. Due to the V-shaped design that enables a cut with a flat base, no material is left untouched between the drums. Where a regular drum cutter must move side to side to create an even trench, an approach that causes extra wear on the carrier arm, the VC 2000 can reach the same result by just going straight. It basically works like a bucket, which makes it easier to use, friendlier for the carrier and a lot less energy and time consuming, according to the manufacturer.
Taking the reduced downtime and maintenance into account makes the calculation even more attractive.
The distinguishing features of the classic Epiroc drum cutters, like the robust spur gears, adoptable high torque gear motor and the QuickSnap retaining system for fast and easy pick changing, are all to be found in the new VC 2000. It even comes with the Pro bracket, that leads all hydraulic hoses through the center of the extension arm and out of harm’s way, as standard. Mechanical and hydraulic rotatable brackets also are available as well as dust preventing water spraying system.
HATCON, a monitoring system that keeps track of operating hours, location and service intervals and presents that data on virtually any screen via MyEpiroc is another option that will increase the overall effectiveness.
“Providing solutions that can help our customers reach new levels is rewarding, not the least when it comes to energy-saving and sustainability. They inspire us to constantly rethink all aspects of our offer, and VC 2000 is certainly a result of that,” concluded Hambach.
