Bergkamp Inc.’s M310 Utilizes Direct-Drive Hydraulics Bergkamp Inc., based in Salina, Kan., offers the M310 truckmounted slurry seal and micro surfacing paver that allows operators to easily calibrate the machine, control production rates and simplify maintenance. The M310 uses the EMCAD (electronic mix control and diagnostic) system that displays current and average material ratios, total material used and material application rates — and can produce on-demand reports to track production for individual sections of the job, or the entire job, via an onboard printer. Operators can evaluate these printouts and make the necessary adjustments to more efficiently run the machine and calculate your bottom line. The M310 utilizes direct-drive hydraulics that work with the EMCAD system. The system monitors and adjusts material ratios automatically according to the set points of the ingredients,

production control setting and instantaneous feedback from the delivery system sensors to provide consistent mix. Aggregate, asphalt emulsion, water, additive and fines are proportionally delivered and metered according to the set points as per mix design. In addition, it electronically self-diagnoses control system or engine problems and displays a simple error code, reducing troubleshooting and repair time. Calibration is simplified, so fewer steps are required and manual calculations are eliminated. Even less experienced operators can quickly make adjustments during production without compromising the accuracy of the mix. “With this unique system, the M310 is one of the simplest-tooperate machines available and provides owners with the information needed to calculate profits accurately,” said Scott Bergkamp,

Bomag Plate Compactors Offer Enhanced Performance Designed with fully enclosed protection hoods, Bomag’s BPR35/60 series reversible plate compactors provide contractors and rental customers with faster working speeds and greater compaction forces for work on granular and mixed soils. Three models are available in the series. The BPR35/60 features a 4.8-hp (3.6 kW) Honda air-cooled gasoline engine, while the BPR35/60D and BPR35/60D/E are equipped with 4.2-hp (3.1 kW) Hatz aircooled diesel engines. Each compactor features a vibratory exciter design for increased working speed and improved gradeability on all types of soil. All three models deliver 7,868 lbs. of centrifugal force. Maximum vibration frequency for each unit is 4,800 vibrations per minute. Both vibration frequency and centrifugal force are easily adjusted using the throttle control. ture reinforced edges and have a working width of 23.6 in. (60 cm). The BPR35/60 series features a highstrength, grain-refined steel hood that helps protect the engine and all internal components from job site and transportation damage. To simplify maintenance, the hood is hinged and swings forward to reveal the entire engine. Large, integral service ports permit access to the most common maintenance points. The compactors also feature a fully protected V-belt, lifetime lubricated vibration bearings, reinforced self-adjusting centrifugal clutch, foldable multi-function lifting point and bumper protection. The gasoline-powered BPR35/60 also features a maintenance-free transistor ignition, large-volume dry air filter with cyclone-type precleaner, and automatic shutdown at low oil level. The diesel-powered models come with semi-automatic decom-

pression for easier starting, and an electric starter also is standard on the BPR35/60D/E. For maximum safety and comfort, the units feature a steering rod with built-in vibration buffers, which help reduce the amount of vibration transferred to the operator. Additionally, the steering rod is height adjustable to accommodate any operator and is lockable in both the transport and working position. Available options include transport wheels, a service kit, and an optional Vulcolan mat that prevents scuffing when the reversible plate compactors are used on paving block.
