State of the Soul Address, by Leonard D. Orr

The "state of the soul address” is a tradition we started in the first one year seminar. On the last meeting of the year, each of us would give a speech on the state of our soul. In one OYS in New Jersey where we had our meetings at a horse farm, it had a nice swimming pool, we each stripped naked and went to the end of the diving board to deliver our speech and when we were finished talking we dove into the water.

And sometimes I have written the state of my soul as well as the Breathwork movement in the Consciousness Connection. So here we go.

And this will include the state of the Rebirthing Breathwork movement.

The purpose of the first OYS was to unravel the birth - death cycle and to create eternal relationships. -Friends to spend eternity with. And Rebirthing was created in the context of OYS. Did it work? This is a good question. To some extent - Yes.

One thing is obvious: people have to successfully heal the 8 or 10 biggies of human trauma to be dependable friends and able to co-create our reality, or, at least to be conscious in this healing process. And committed to it and the other OYS members in this process of spiritual family. This process includes becoming a senility graduate.

How far have I gone, am I, in my healing process? Am I clear yet? Is my liberation process 50% complete? 80%??? 10%???

The lady of great mysteries in Tales of the Taoist Immortals by Eva Wong is a great model. Her life started as a disaster. She started studying the arts of immortality in her 30's and soon thereafter stopped aging. She still had her youthful beauty at 200. She didn't start teaching till after she became a total master of the physical universe at 150. Her powers are unimaginable to us today.

She was very, very pure. With that kind of power, we have to have a totally pure mind so that we don't become destructive. After 200, even though she was in perfect condition, she levitated and disappeared like Jesus and Elijah and many other immortals have. And some... continued on pg 2.

If we know we are a Divine Being, we can relax and take our time. In fact, being able to relax into our Divine Being is the Tao. This is the basic “Being able to relax secret of immortality, as long as we are not killing ourselves when we are into our Divine Being is not relaxed or when we are not relaxed. We just have to relax and let our the Tao...”

Natural Divinity dominate our experience. We just have to relax and express our Divine Qualities like truth, simplicity, and love. This doesn't mean doing nothing or being inactive. It means participating in the world, making a contribution or many to the quality of life in our society, and being a responsible and ethical citizen. We live in a democracy that doesnʼt work for us because we don't participate in it enough.

Some of the great immortals were kings and even emperors. Some were advisors to the rulers.

Being a responsible citizen is not that difficult. It just means being in communication with our elected representatives. Do we even know their names? I try to communicate regularly with mine when I am home long enough. And some of them by email.

We are living in the age when everyone can be immortal or at least being immortal can become as popular as death. We have indoor plumbing and hot water for bathing and cleaning our Energy Body. We have access to fire purification in our back yard, or even in our fireplace inside our homes.

Most of the people reading this have access to the Eternal Breath of Life. And people know what foods kill them with heart disease and other diseases. We have an abundance of nutritional options.

We all have access to exercise. When we serve enough people, we win the money game. And we can even win the money game in the stock market without much effort. We can work relaxed and clean ourselves when we get too much emotional energy pollution. And yet most people are still deathists. And living like zombies for lack of spiritual purification.

Throughout my whole career, I have been surrounded mostly my nonfunctional people who are barely making it. And their life improves to the extent that they learn and do all six of the basic mind, earth, air, water, fire, and love spiritual practices - one is not enough. When we get stuck on one sooner or later it doesnʼt work and then we are lost. There also is an abundance of friends in my life who do at least enough spiritual practices to have fun with me and to grow with and to expand the Knowledge. The knowledge of spiritual practices that naturally produce everlasting life and the knowledge of Source. Solitude is the ultimate teacher. What we learn directly from God, we then can teach with power. We are so ignorant that we have to learn it and relearn it over and over, it seems.

The arts of immortality are relatively rare still in the Western world in a conscious way. And yet who can minimize the enlightening power of the automobile as a meditation teaching machine.

Adding the words of physical immortality to everyoneʼs vocabulary can bring a major jump in human evolution. The spiritual purification arts that we do in the rebirthing movement are also largely unknown in the eastern world as well. This is why Babaji called Rebirthing the new yoga. Sometimes it feels like I am working in mud. But I see a glimmer of hope as more and more... continued on pg 4

What is Emotional Energy Pollution? - by Malou Emotional Energy Pollution (EEP), to me, is the energetic soup we live in, based on the personal stories and internal landscapes of the individual people and collectives of people, who surround us... as well as our own.

I experience it consciously as specific emotions, or mental noise, or smells, or a denser, gluey type of energy (without content) that can manifest as any kind of physical sensation/symptom with some degree of toxicity and a sense of separation from my energetic and spiritual resources. Usually it is a combination of all of those, presenting themselves at the margin of my energy field and seeping in.

I experience any additional EEP (that i have absorbed subconsciously or is being released from within), when i move my own energy (through breathing or/and Qi Gong), as it is on its way moving out of my system/field. Since I have been sitting with the question for the past couple of days, I have also discovered that I have held a narrow view concerning this.

EEP is not only the unescapable and somewhat challenging condition of "managing" and filtering layers and layers of energy on a daily basis for the sake of my wellbeing, health and liberation.

It is also the fabric resulting from the exquisite entanglement of souls at the human level...with a divine undercurrent. It is the dense substance timely cooked up and readily available on each ordinary day, which holds hidden windows and golden threads pointing towards the divine. As such it is an invitation. Like a river flowing inevitably towards the ocean, it can take me in, in a light and effortless way, towards the ocean of joy and bliss. ~ Malou i malouthein@mac.com

- people value the practices. And I see everything going on in the news as a stimulant to make the masses of unconscious people think, at least a little bit. If we compare the ignorance of people 100 years ago with today, it is much better today. The misery is not quite so intense, but still intense enough to make rich and successful people seek their own death. Suicide among middle-aged men has tripled in the last 3 years. And teenage statistics are following them. People are intelligent enough to know that can't win the fed's money game, but not intelligent enough to solve their own problems and print their own money or join a local money system. But enlightenment, both spiritual and material is growing. Most Rebirthing Breathworkers have failed at this wonderful profession.

Many have died. Tens of thousands have done Rebirther Breathworker training. What happened to them? Most of them drowned in EEP - emotional energy pollution. Most rebirthing Breathworkers failed because they got tired of dealing with other people's feelings and emotional problems. • But what about their own??? When people quit Rebirthing Breathwork and get a job, they are still dealing with people's feelings and emotions, but the EEP of it is more subtle and sneaks up on them and kills them. It is the same, but less obvious. If they build spiritual communities around them, life is easier.

The OYS is one important answer and approach, or some kind of support group. In Argentina where I am today there is a guy who has a weekly support group of 300 people who pay him $300 per month. -Thatʼs $90,000 for his starting income each month. Any good Rebirther can do this. I didn't start giving my spiritual purification training until 1981. Without practicing spiritual purification with all the elements, we just don't survive, in spite of the arrogance of the rational mind. The rational mind is our supreme quality, but until it surrenders to the Divine Feminine and the angels of the Mother Nature: earth, air, water, and fire, we can get stuck in arrogance and destroy ourselves. We have to balance truth with simplicity and love. We have to balance the material dimension with the spiritual dimension.

The first One Year Seminar was designed to solve these problems. An OYS group has the possibility of creating enough support for us and the other people who participate to give us enough strength, wisdom, love and inspiration to survive in the dog eat dog world. The excitement of our clients in the first ten sessions almost wiped out One Year Seminars completely. People can live off this improvement for weeks, months, or even years. But those Rebirthing Breathworkers who forgot to implement spiritual community failed or died. And I have observed that the basic cause of failure is poor diet and lack of fire purification for the energy body. Some Breathworkers couldnʼt even give up drugs for full aliveness. It is exciting for me to see the revival of One Year Seminars. It is a good basic form of relating and for growing spiritually. They are springing up all over the world. One of them here in Argentina meets twice per month and this is good, especially for people just starting their healing process. We all should have weekly support groups available, but for some people the monthly all day meeting is best. It feels like the Rebirthing Breathwork movement is just starting over.

We don't have that many senility graduates, but there are a few dozen at least. And the radical ideas of Rebirthing Breathwork are becoming more popular and acceptable in the mainstream mind.

I think there are more wise people on the planet than ever before, and of course more people, but I think the percentage is growing in a good way, slowly, but good. And God has provided so many games in which people can learn about themselves that i have hope. Life is reality therapy - everyday. Babaji once said, I could heal you all in one day, but then what would you learn. God likes us to become wise and patient like Him, and be co-creators. He is not afraid of us becoming equal to Him.

It would all be so much easier if we would all care about the people in our community more and make democracy actually work. All the abuses are caused by our lack of participation. We can't have government of the people, by the people, and for the people without the people - that means you and me. When the spiritual dimension dominates politics, we will have heaven on earth. Letʼs go for it. The OYS is the perfect model for community participation. It is a powerful experience of spiritual community. If this becomes universal, we will have heaven on earth. For professional Rebirthing Breathworkers, this means building a professional organization. This means participating in the annual convention and paying dues without being reminded every year to Rebirth International.

It is just not possible to have a high quality professional

organization without a big enough budget to pay full time staff. In some countries, this is now a live possibility, but we have to be mature enough to do it. It seems that usually I end up paying most of the bills. I am happy when I can do it, but how many of you are willing to join me?

I have maintained a full time Rebirthing Breathwork training center offering unlimited training everyday 24/7 since the first year of the movement. I continue to subsidize it, even when it is a burden because I feel that the healing and spiritual education of people is the most important thing in this universe. This year it is a struggle.

I would love your assistance and your generous donations to get us out of a bind. Please don't undervalue small gifts. And if you know big givers, invite them to support our movement. It is benefiting them as well as us in the quality of human life on this planet.

The RBI training center trains people whether they pay or not. I have always realized that sometimes people require training and healing the most when they don't have any money. I love supporting people on spiritual retreat. You are welcome when it is appropriate. It would be great if you get behind me and helped eliminate the mortgage. Remember, prosperity consciousness is about creating our income every month out of nothing. You can never be successful or a millionaire if you donʼt master this thought about serving and healing real people, not theoretical or ideal people.

I agreed with Babaji to work as efficiently as I could until the end of 2012, and if necessary take a rest in 2013. I would like to take a rest in 2013, but it is not possible without your creative participation and support that has to start now. This is 2012, the beginning is near. I almost collapsed several times, but by doing the practices and adjusting the ways that I work, I continue to prosper and expand. People are enriched and prospered wherever I go and become happier. The idea of certified Rebirthing Breathworkers in an exciting idea that is being resurrected in the movement. It is not about credentials. It is about accomplishment and maturity. The idea is to have a team of high quality people that are actually transforming the world and training high quality Breathworkers and guides of spiritual purification and healing.

The next RBI Conventions this year will tell a lot about our progress and our future. There is one in Brazil, California, Virginia, and Spain. The Lemonade Stand Principle, by Yasoda Susan Deschenes I wonder if I was born an entrepreneur. Maybe I just learned, at an early age, that it was more fun to have money than not to have money. My earliest recollection of my ability to earn money was at age 6, when I sold flowers which I took out of the nearby Lutheran Church garbage bin.

Faithfully on Mondays, the church secretary would put the flowers in the bin; and faithfully after school (first grade), I would take the flowers out, tear out the bad spots and sell them. I would go along the neighborhood streets, door-to-door, peddling my flowers minus the bad spots. I was successful at it. People would give me coins for my little bunches of flowers tied by a red string and when I would get to my last bouquet, Iʼd knock on the door of the home where the Catholic nuns lived.

A very warm and loving sister would give me a small picture of Jesus, in lieu of coins, for my flowers.

I did this every Monday like clockwork.

Later on, after selling all of my flowers I took my accumulated pictures of Jesus and gave them to some to the old folks at the nursing home next door to the church. Somehow, at an early age, I had an “eye” for what could be special to someone else for which I could be paid. I must also have been undaunted, creative, imaginative and have had a measure of freedom from my parents. I am certain, though, that I tremendously enjoyed this. I made special friends.

Whenever the carnival would come to town, Iʼd go to the “penny pitch” and return home with enough ash trays, glasses, bowls and plates to set up shop. With my card table placed in front of the house, right alongside the sidewalk, Iʼd sell my wares for ten cents each. I made a profit and I always sold out!

Then I really got into business with my lemonade stand, which I would faithfully set up every Saturday morning and keep it up until 2p.m. At age 6, I was selling lemonade at five cents a glass. I remember making my table beautiful with a tablecloth (I also ironed at a young age) with the finishing touch of red and orange geraniums in a green Coke bottle. Kids came, so did heir mothers. Even the scary old woman who lived in the proverbial darkened mysterious house down the street sent a note, via the passing mailman, that she wanted me to bring her a cup of lemonade. So I did and for my efforts she gave me twice the amount – 10 cents. That was an interesting lesson: I learned about going that “extra mile”.

I then expanded to include red Kool-Aid for 3 cents a glass because it was cheaper to make and I cheated a little on the sugar. The old woman gave me a 20 pound bag of sugar she no longer used and people liked my Kool-Aid. Later when lemons got costly, I added different flavors of Kool-Aid, even putting some dry Kool-Aid powder in small envelopes for 2 cents. Kids could buy it, pour it out onto their hands and lick the dry and sour powder. As summer came on I included frozen Kool-Aid ice cubes for one penny each. By then I was 8 years of age.

Some days were filled with many trips to the house to get more cold ice water of Kool-Aid ice cubes; other days I went to and from the house because I drank more than I sold! I stayed with this venture for three summers and most Saturdays during school.

I must confess, though, that my Mom put a halt to my entrepreneurial spirit when I charged 5 cents for neighbor kids to wiggle the stiff body of my dead cat Rusty who was on the porch in a box waiting to be picked up by the Humane society!

As I look back, I was in Lemonade Stand Training School, for I learned some lessons that are with me still. I learned: I, independently, could make something happen. I had earning power. To use and sell products that I loved. I could sell things for money or by trading. How to negotiate (negotiate means that both parties are satisfied with the deal). How to be generous. (I would give someone a whole glass of lemonade so they could taste it. Most people would, in turn, buy more. I also gave many free glasses to my buddies.) To be consistent. The idea that I learned from my friend Leonard Orr to have many sources of income is a smart one and can liberate you from the dependency created by one source of income and the tremendous fear of having it taken away. It can be easy when you relax your mind, become inventive, move from the idea of “selling” to “offering” and let go of attachment to “making the deal”. You can be employed full-time and get involved with products or trade and “do it on the side”.

YOU CAN SELL IDEAS. HSU and CR (local colleges) sell ideas. If you have ever paid tuition, you have purchased ideas. You can sell ideas by giving a class, workshop, a seminar. You can be a consultant if you have something to advise or teach.

YOU CAN SELL PRODUCTS OR SERVICES. There are Avon ladies and Mary Kay consultants; vendors at the Farmerʼs Market and North Country Faire; there are sidewalk sales and yard sales and garage sales; there are parties to show beautiful and unusual baskets, Tupperware and intimate apparel; there are Sunrider and Blue Green Algae to take for inner health and cleansing; thereʼs Toby across from Arcata City Hall selling flowers; and Don in the Arcata Plaza selling hot dogs and sausages. Toby is a great entrepreneur. He expanded his business as he saw what people wanted: coffee, tea, hot chocolate and tofu hot dogs. He will even give you a shoe shine! There is no end to what can be available for you. Just select a service or product for which someone will be willing to pay you.

The workplace in the 21st century will be a different configuration than weʼve known in the past.

Our mentality of largeness seems to be turning around to more simple form. Did you know that home-based business comprises more than 50% of all new businesses in the U.S. and 75% of the new businesses in Canada? The rise in mail-order catalogues and multilevel marketing of products is testimony that people want to buy either at home or in a more personal manner.

The workplace in 21st century is also going to be one of the multi-careers and simultaneous careers. If you are able to change with the changes this can be an exciting time in making money to take care of your needs. Leonard Orr says that: we should stay with a career or product for at least 5 years or until we have become successful with that career or product so that we create patterns of success rather than failure.

Naturally, you must have the “glue” that holds it all together. I think that is made up of personal energy, inspiration, self-esteem and the willingness to show up or have you or your product out where people will know about it, where they live or shop or hang out. Display it or have it available, or you be available and donʼt take yourself too seriously.

Creative Thinking, by JesÚs Meca Thinking is one of the parts of ourselves in which we are the most in contact with in our lives, whether consciously or unconsciously. Most thoughts are repetitive. This means that you're telling yourself over and over again the same things about life. We are programmed by repeating the same things over and over. We have between 50,000 and 100,000 thoughts a day.

If 80% of those thoughts are repetitive, the result is that we say to ourselves the same things from 40,000 to 80,000 times, EVERY DAY! For me, this is surprising. But now the best is coming: The fact that thought is creative means that we can use it to create in our minds what we want in our lives, and thus create our reality. What does this mean?

Attention is the key of what we think. Iʼm not going to tell you things you do not know. I´m just going to remind you of things that you already know. In this moment that I'm writing, I am reminding myself of things that I already know. I invite you to read this article with your full attention. The magic of writing something which someone will read later, is that no matter when it was written, it is being read in the present moment. This is your present moment and therefore, it is now that my written words are going from the letters on this page to your brain, and maybe going to an inner voice that is reading this "in your head."

Now that we've connected with the introduction of this section, I would like you to pay attention to your vision. Keep reading and realize while reading, with your peripheral vision, that there are some things outside of this page. As you read these words, at the same time, broaden your field of view so you can see with peripheral vision (being aware of your surroundings beyond this newsletter page).

Now you're paying attention to something you didn´t before. You have changed your focus.

Very good, now you can continue sustaining peripheral vision if you want, or you can stop paying attention to the surroundings and focus again on the letters on this page. Focus carefully on what you read, and slowly begin to bring your consciousness back to the letters.

Now I'll ask you again to change your focus. As you continue with your attention on the letters and the voice in your head that is reading what your eyes are looking over, change your focus to your ears. Step by step, bring your attention to your ears while your brain is interpreting the words and following the instructions I´m giving to you. Listen to the sounds that surround you and start separating some of them, the differences in tones, loudness, if they are low or treble, if they are close or far, if they are annoying, if they are ordinary, or if they are nice sounds. It's amazing how all these things were already there and probably you werenʼt paying attention to even 20% of these noises.

This is what most people usually do (have their attention on only 20%). Great, now finally, without the need of focusing on other things, I would like you to feel. Feel whatever your body is in contact with right now. It can be your feet on the floor, it can be clothes you are wearing, may be the contact of your body in this moment with a surface like a chair, sofa, bed, etc.

Whatever your case is, feel those parts of your body that you hadnʼt paid attention to while reading these letters. Are you realizing this? You're Feeling parts of yourself that you've always been feeling, but that you gave no importance to before, you didnʼt know they were "there" feeling. You didn´t put consciousness in those parts that were already "feeling" at this moment.

And if I ask you now to pay attention to what you see, hear and feel? Again there is a shift of focus.

It is very simple, right? And because of what you did, your mood has changed and now your feelings are different. You don´t have the same consciousness that you had when you started reading this article for the first time. Now you can go from one focus to another, changing the focus to your ears, feeling sensations, etc. But this is not the main objective of this article, changing your focus is.

The main objective was to give you practical proof of how, depending on what you focus on, your consciousness changes and therefore your sensations, feelings and emotions change. Besides, as we have seen, this can be done easily. Yes! Easily! What happens is that we may have patterns that make us go back to previous behaviors, but it is a matter of working with the strongest "muscle" that we have: The brain and thinking!

The intensity in the change of your emotions is directly proportional to the intensity with which you focus on one thing or another. Do a test and start to laugh for no reason. Do it! Begin to laugh as if somebody is saying something funny to you. Do not hesitate and do it. If we can become bitter for no reason, we can laugh for no reason! Do it! DO IT! NOW! LAUGH! WITH NO REASON! JUST LAAAUGH! Hahaha. Well, I hope that you could lose the shame and laugh out loud for no reason.

And if you didn´t, return to the previous paragraph! ;-).

Now that you can validate by yourself what I'm telling you, realize how you've been feeling in your life. Have you been with negative emotions? Are you not in your best moment? Have you been seeing things kind of difficult? Is there anything you would like to change and have been trying to, but didnʼt achieve? And how do you feel because of that? Would you like to listen to different things other than those you have been hearing so far? Why don´t you feel how you would like to feel?

The answer is simple. It has to do with your focus. Creative thinking and the focus of attention, in the way that I am explaining them to you, are synonymous. You co-create your world with your thoughts and therefore co-create things depending on what you focus on. You think about something and you focus on it. One goes along with the other.

Creative thinking is something you already use and that is already within you. But it may be something that perhaps you are not giving enough attention to, in order to make the things you want to have happen in your life come true. To materialize them you must do more than simply create with your mind. However, creating them and thinking about them is an essential first step. When you create an image or a feeling, in short, and when you make something that is vivid enough, the brain does not distinguish if it is happening in reality or not. That is, if we create something strongly enough in our mind, this will be real to your brain and therefore our "muscle" will begin to function as if it were.

The Creative Thinking sequence could be: 1. In your mind, focus on what you want to create.

2. An emotion emerges. 3. Hold the emotion and thought. 4. Put it into action.

Iʼll give you one example. I was in the United States, Virginia, at the Rebirthing International Center after returning from Brazil. I thought of doing two seminars that weekend (it was Thursday when I arrived). In that town did not know anyone, so it was something interesting to do, like a challenge or adventure. I created the information fliers and spread them all over town. The more I was moving forward, the more excited I was by the idea of creating something in a place that I didnʼt know anyone. I went to a supermarket to buy notebooks for the people who would come to the seminars. I was very clear, both mentally and emotionally.

I had the feeling that I really want to do this and that I would be successful, that I would do my best to materialize these seminars, so I went to sleep with the information almost done, with great enthusiasm and positive energy. The next morning I was a little bit tired... continued on pg 11

because I went to sleep late, so I wasnʼt so clear that the seminars would happen. I didnʼt have a very high energy level. I left the training center and went back inside because I had forgotten something, and when I came outside again, I met a person I had met the last time I was at the RBI Center. We talked about different things and started to share an interesting idea about prosperity: paying your friends.

Basically the idea is that if we want someone to be prosperous, then “Creative thinking is of all people we should prefer that these persons also be our friends and something you already loved ones. So why donʼt we usually pay our friends? I mean, why do we hope that because of being friends we have privileges? Why not pay use and that is already twice as much to our friends for their ideas, goods or services? Think within you...” about it. If you want someone to be successful, those are your loved ones, so why not pay them twice?

Iʼm thinking now about this story that Iʼm sharing with you. Iʼm not saying that it isnʼt nice to offer to our friends things for "free" but if we can afford to pay with our financial possibilities… Think about how youʼll feel if you pay a friend and say: “I know that you can offer me this for free, but I ´m paying you because I appreciate and value your work, and I want you to be as prosperous as you want me to be.” And think also how your friend will feel, as he or she receives this money from a person who they also appreciate and love. It is possible that you will make this day a very special day.

Following the story, after talking a while, he said to me: “Wait, I have something for you in the car,” he went to his car, and returned with $5 and said: “Here you are, this is for you.” I was kind of surprised and asked: “What is this for?” And he said, “this is because you're giving me valuable information.” We kept talking about other things for another half hour or so, and he said again: “Wait, I have something for you,” and returning from the car he gave me $20. And again I asked “what is this for?” And he said, “this is because I think you're giving me a very good seminar.”

The seminar! What I had created the previous day, with all the strength and positive emotion, such clarity and enthusiasm was happening right there! I had created a workshop thanks to creative thinking, focus, attention, emotion, support and intention. Using the necessary tools to put our creative thinking to work and allowing it to express itself in our daily life is often surprising. Using these tools is very simple!

- What distinguishes us from other living beings on the planet is that we are beings that think.

- Theories, companies, inventions, developments, etc., all start with an idea.

- Your thoughts affect your emotions and therefore your mood and your health.

- With your thoughts you co-create your reality.

- You can choose what you want to think about by bringing awareness to it.

- We are energy, thought and form.

You have an unlimited potential, and you only have to find it out! To conclude, I would also say that one of the ways to develop creative thinking is through the practice of conscious breathing (Rebirthing). When you incorporate this technique into your day-to-day life, then the mind is opened during each session and you start to get many ideas about your projects and goals you have in your life. The information begins to come easily and clearly during your breathing sessions. It's that easy!

THE INNER CHILD, (Part 1) by Fanny VanLaere A few years ago I decided to include more work with the inner child and inner teenager in my seminars because I realized that everybody, whether they know it or not, have so much to heal from their childhood. The amazing healings which happen as a result of it strengths my motivation to continue working more with the inner child. According to Alice Miller, the majority of the world population suffers from childhood injuries to the soul. In resolving the effects of child mistreatment she writes: “We cannot resolve the effects of mistreatment in therapies that evade the facts and confine themselves only to the analysis of the psychic realities. But we can liberate ourselves from the consequences if we are prepared to face emotionally the truth of our childhood, to give up the denial of our suffering, to develop empathy for the child that we were and to thus understand the reasons for our fears. In this way, we free ourselves from the fears and guilt feelings that were burdened upon us from the earliest age. Through the knowledge of our history and our feelings, we get to know the persons that we are, and we learn to give to them what they vitally need but never received from their parents: love and respect. This is the goal of the uncovering therapy: The wounds can be scared over if they are tended to and taken seriously; but the existence of the scars should not be denied”.

Working with the inner child has magical effects. By doing so people often experience big releases, develop new skills and have vivid memories of early ages that they thought they had forgotten.

Our inner child and our inner parents: When we were children, we built the image (or images) we have about ourselves on the basis of the perception that other people had of us, especially our parents and all loved ones.

But the image we have of ourselves is not, for most people, in harmony with their true self, or even denies it. Your attitude and what you create in your life correspond to the image you have about yourself.

As a child each time you were valued, supported and trusted you could go through the learning process, corresponding to the stage you were in, with success. You also built a good image about yourself which becomes part of your mind and cellular memory. It becomes your healthy inner child, natural inner child or inner divine child (Carl Jung used the concept “Divine Child” and Emmet Fox the “Wonder Child”).

The inner divine child refers to that part of each of us which is ultimately alive, energetic, creative and fulfilled. You also built a good model of a loving parental figure which also became your inner loving parent. In the same way, your body and subconscious mind retained memories of not being supported and guided when you needed to be as well as memories of injury to your dignity and integrity when you received any form of mistreatment (derision, neglect, humiliations, betrayal, slaps in the face, beatings, sexual abuse etc.).

Denial and self defense mechanisms were then necessary for your survival; but they lead to blockages, reduce your ability to learn new ways of acting and cause illnesses. This part of you became your hurt inner child. You also built an inner model of a critical parent or inner tyrant.

In his book Home coming, John Bradshaw writes: “Some of the most common defenses are: denial, (“'it's not really happening”), repression, (“it never happened”), disassociation, “I don't remember what happened”), projection, (“it's happening to you, not me”), conversion (“I eat compulsively or make love when I feel it's happening”) and minimization (“it happened but it's not that bad”).”

Logically the stronger your inner divine child and loving parent and the weaker your inner critic and inner hurt child, the happier, healthier and more balanced you are as a person. The stages of the child development “We shouldnʼt ask “What does a person need to be able to do in order to fit into the existing social order today?” Instead we should ask “what lives in each human being and what can be developed in him or her?” ~Rudolf Steiner.

As children, in each stage of our development we needed specific support and attention. The body, soul and spirit are present in embryo before birth. They develop and become active and independent at different stages of the childʼs development.

Our education system does not fulfill the real needs of the children as it is not based on a deep comprehension of these different phases. Each stage should be experienced fully and not cut short. Rudolf Steiner envisioned the development of the child as an organic process that unfolds through stages, which have to be acknowledged and respected for the welfare of the child and its future being as a wo/man.

The different stages of human development remain in us. The stages that we learned and integrated properly contribute to making us balanced individuals. The parts we did not complete have the tendency to show up in our lives, creating healing crises, which try to help us realize fully our natural divinity. When we are growing from a baby to an adult, there is a “divine program” inside us that, if it were completely understood, supported, and not interfered with, would lead us to complete realization and mastery. Unfortunately, through many interferences , most of us completely lose the conscious contact with our life purpose and true self.

The healthy parts or stages we complete support our true self or are actually a manifestation of our true self, of our inner divine child. Studying the stages of human development will help you to see which parts of you (and your clients) need to be healed and which parts of the learning you (and your clients) need to complete. If each stage of human development was truly understood and respected, our society would be much more harmonious and spiritually advanced. Unfortunately, because of the lack of understanding and support (especially from parents and teachers), many stages remain uncompleted for most children. The result is many behavioral deficiencies and traumas.

Working with your inner child and becoming your own inner mother/father will totally transform your life. I recommend you work with John Bradshow´s book Homecoming: Reclaiming and Championing Your Inner Child. Another great book about the different phases of child development is Phases of childhood by Bernard Lievegoed.

The inner baby (from 0 to approximately 9 months) For the baby the self does not exist yet.

There is still a strong connection with the Source and a state of unity. It is the stage of being and experimenting with feelings and sensation. Psychologists call this stage positive narcissism. It is also the stage of learning to trust life and ourselves. When this stage is completed successfully the baby and thus future adult develops high self esteem and can be content being true to itself.

S/he especially learns that s/he deserves to be loved just by “being” and develops a healthy and loving relationship with her/his body. In this stage the baby totally depends on its parents, especially its mother. If the relationship with them is harmonious the future adult will have the tendency to build harmonious relationships. If not they will remain co-dependent and can develop the tendency towards co-dependent relationships, particularly with lovers. At this stage the baby needs to be touched, fed, cleaned, clothed and bathed. S/he can feel exactly what his/her parents are feeling. If his needs are not covered he will learn to be ashamed of his body and his physical needs, which can not only lead to emotional problems in the future but health problems as well. ...continued on page 14.

Safe and Immortal in NYC, by Peace Arnold Who a I without someone to push against? That is the question. I find that I am capable of deep solitude in NYC. The quiet comfort of my studio apartment. The beauty and nature in Inwood Hill Park. The smell of coffee as I sit working online in my favorite spot at Indian Road Cafe, the modern day answer to the neighborhood bar... I smile as an image of Jimmy Breslin at his typewriter in the local pub crosses my dream-focused mind.

Interesting that I feel the least self-conscious in the midst of so many people... New Yorkers developed their own form of Personal Energy management and privacy etiquette.

It feels as if we rev up a defensive energy and get it flowing until we are pressing up and pushing against everyone else defended energy fields, and build up enough pressure to form a strong personal energy container, a vigilantly defended space within which to live. Donʼt cross that line..

Donʼt mess with me. Perhaps, this is why so many New Yorkers, simply cannot leave the city, or live outside of a city. If they did they would, simply, fall down, not knowing how to move on their own, or go crazy until they learn to adapt to the change and develop and new sense of self.

And, who am I, now, that I am no longer pushing? I am outside the bubble. The observer. The world server. The space traveler. The wandering 'wonderer'... What will happen next? I don't know, but I expect it will be good.

Fire: When I am in NYC I drive out to family in Queens and use a fire bowl several times a week and sleep and work with a dish filled with tea lights near by... The fire bowl works wonders. The tea lights are most effective when I make a conscious, focused connection and recite Mantra.

Spending time in nature with fire is one of the most intelligent and valuable ways we can spend time. That moment when the mental noise stops and I experience the silence once again is magical.

It is a return to sanity. And, it is by contrast that I know it. When I sit with an open fire, after a while energetic congestion begins to clear from my body tissue, my breathing mechanism frees up, breathing becomes easier and my breath begins to expand. By energetic congestion I am referring to the accumulation of stagnant energy from the time between fires. This is a physical, palpable reality for me. As my breath expands I relax and observe the mental constructs that appear as physical tension in my brain yield to the breath. Soon, my mind is open and the silence of 'true mind' becomes a noticeable reality for me.. peaceful, quiet, calm, sacred.. The fire reflects this calm this morning as I write.. and, I wonder at the miracle before me which started with a small spark and, now consumes the wood... and, wonder what feeds and fuels the sun.

Fire, this most amazing phenomena... lives inside all of us. There are no words that can teach anyone to understand the necessity of fire for the human energy body... only experience can demonstrate the benefits. I hope you give yourself the opportunity to truly and deeply experience the effects of fire on your energy system and on your mental well being. The insight and understanding that comes from direct experience is valuable beyond words. Annual Rebirthing Training in Greece, by Katia Boustani In October 2011 I was blessed to be the organizer of Leonard's 9 day Training in Mykonos, Greece. I was so excited about him coming, even though my PDS and personal lie, "I'm not good enough", was really coming up as I nervously tried to get the last details of the training together before his arrival. And then the day came and I was suddenly at Athens airport waiting among the crowds for him to appear at arrivals. Then I saw him and when he focused his gaze on me and looked deeply into my eyes I knew it was ok... he was here!

We proceeded to the house we were staying. I was lucky enough to have him to myself for 2 whole days before going to Mykonos. This was where, for me, the real learning occurred - that was the part of the seminar reserved for me. As I said, I'm blessed! Soon Heike arrived and I loved her from the moment I laid eyes on her. Same intense, open and loving gaze as Leonard's bestowed on me and that beautiful smile!

After a couple of lectures in Athens it was on to Mykonos. I knew most of the attendants and was so happy to see them on our arrival. I am very grateful to my assistants who made our arrival smooth.

Mykonos is captivatingly beautiful. It literally buzzes energetically! With Delos (the birth place of Apollon the god of light) so close and the sea all around you in it's magnificence, the light and colors are legendary. Everywhere you look there is moving water with hues of intense blues and earthy colors splashed with whitewashed houses with cobalt blue shutters.. and of course, the LIGHT. Contrary to the last training in Mykonos, the weather was unusually windy and cold for that time of year and I was worried it would ruin the training. But with Leonard and Heike's wonderful presence and knowledge and of course the power of the breath, fire, earth and water we quickly slipped into that place of unity with the universe and each other. The participants bonded deeply and in between interesting lectures about physical immortality, the workings of the mind and breathing, we managed to massage each other, swim and do cold water rebirths in the deep and powerful sea, lay in our sleeping bags on the sand in front of glorious fires all day, meditate and pray, dance and eat, laugh and love as well as fast and breathe.

The vibration of all of the attendants rose steadily until we were filled with love and peace and of course... no one wanted to leave by the end of the training. Except Leonard! He was passionate about getting back to his beautiful lady (Elvi Orr) FAST!!

All of a sudden we were at Mykonos airport. I was hugging him and Heike and then.... Gone! The feeling remains though and the bonding of love between friends who experienced something extraordinary together. ~Can't wait for next year!!

Forgiveness Exercise, by Elvi Orr This exercise has been inspired by Luule Viilma – a well-known Estonian spiritual teacher and healer. Remember that the transformative power of forgiveness will first and foremost set YOU free.

You are doing it mainly to liberate your soul, free your body from tension that resistance and negative emotions have caused, and create a new, healthy emotional and behavioral pattern. Your cells and organs will be so grateful! When your vibration raises, everyone around you and the whole world benefits. It is best to do the exercise in the written form. Here it is: Inspiration University • I, (your name)..., forgive you, (the name(s) of the person(s) 2012 Book Sale! involved)..., for what you did to me. (Describe, in a few sentences what it is that you are forgiving for.) Thank you for a valuable lesson.

• As a result of it I learned.... (Write what you learned from the experience, what you realized about yourself, how it made you evolve, what changed as a result.)
