spring fever n

the feeling of restlessness experienced by many people at the onset of spring

S

pring fever is a term commonly used in the north, and I am certainly experiencing it! Bringing you an issue packed with vacation ideas and picturesque destinations, has given me quite the ‘itch’ to get out of town. From the relaxing leisurely island life in Key West, to the non-stop excitement and entertainment of cruise ship vacationing, we have outlined some of our travels and experiences in and around Florida. You can decide for yourself where you plan to spend your hard earned dollars to step away from work and enjoy a few moments of paradise. While I sit here and write this ‘Letter from the Editor,’ it just so happens that Michele Balan, featured on page 52 is currently in the Caribbean entertaining cruise ship guests with her humor. And if the hot sun doesn’t tickle your fancy, Carlos Melia brings you travel tips from Thailand on page 16.

Before the spring fever sets in, it is often typical to feel some form of depression during the winter months, even if you live where the snow doesn’t fall. I thought an article containing some useful tips on struggling through the depression would be insightful to our readers, but while browsing the internet, I came across an interesting article that highlights specific lesbian healthcare concerns. Published by the Gay & Lesbian Medical Association, the editorial touches on depression, but also brings to light issues that may not be at the top of your thinking cap (pg 14). Special features in this issue highlight music sensation Justin Utley, the comical David Leddick, and the 12 very genuine contestants of the Mr. Gay World USA 2012 reality show, “The Next American Gay” As always, thanks so much for taking the time to browse the pages of Connextions Magazine. We appreciate all your comments and feedback, and look forward to connecting with you soon.
