GALWAY GAA STARS SHINE FOR RENVYLE GALWAY Senior football team paid a visit to the Renvyle area on July 14 for a team building and coaching day. Manager Alan Mulholland brought his players to Connemara to help motivate and inspire the panel – and anyone who saw them play in their two subsequent matches against Armagh and Cork would have to admit he succeeded. The team arrived at Glassilaun beach at 11am, where they had a coaching session, played some American football and went for a swim in the summer sunshine. They arrived in Letterfrack via Tullycross at 1.30pm, where Renvyle GAA provided a buffet lunch in the Ellis Hall. From there it was on to Letterfrack community pitch to coach the 40 or so children who came out to meet them. The

Roundstone playschool ‘now at risk’ Tony Kiely

THE board of directors for Roundstone Playschool have highlighted the difficulties they are experiencing recruiting new children for the coming term – and warned that if the facility is forced to close due a lack of pupil numbers, it may be lost from the community forever. The playschool, which is situated in Scoil Eanna Primary School, Roundstone, is a community-based company and relies on capitation grants for the Free Year (ECCE) and CCS scheme (for parents on low incomes), as well as local fundraising efforts. A spokeswoman for the playschool said: ‘We currently have two very experienced staff qualified to FETAC Level 5, employed on a part time basis. ‘The number of new entrants has dwindled, so we need to encourage l turn to page 7
