These ladies are part of a documentary by filmmaker Avishai Mekonen, whose film Seven Generations explores what it means to be an Ethiopian Jew. Under the auspices of the Savannah Black Heritage Festival and MorningStar Arts, Mekonen appears this week at both the Owens-Thomas House, where he gives a workshop, and at the Jepson Center, where Seven Generations will screen.
