Thisorderrestrictsdiscussionsonsystemicracismandrelatedconcepts whichwouldlimitcomprehensiveBlackhistoryeducation,reducing students'exposuretokeyhistoricalandcontemporaryissuesaffecting Blackcommunities.ThisorderrisksfurthermarginalizingBlackstudents whilereinforcingEurocentricnarrativesofAmericanhistory.
Long-termimplicationsofthisorderincludereproducingimplicitbiases forgenerationsandlimitingcapacitiestocreateanequalandjust societythataddressessystemicracism.
Theeffectsofthisorderareespeciallyharmfultostudentswhooccupy socialpositionsattheintersectionofrace,gender,andLGBTQ+status. Forexample,Blacktransgenderstudentswillbedisproportionately impactedastheyalreadyendurehighratesofschooldisciplineand harassment.Targeting“genderideology”willundoubtedlyundermine protectionsforthesestudents.

TheCongressionalBlackCaucus(CBC)hasalongstandingcommitment toadvancingequityineducation.TheCaucushasanEducationand LaborTaskforcethathashistoricallyworkedtoexaminecausesof increasedsegregationandensureeducationalinstitutionsarediverse andinclusive.
