In response to community needs, the Conejo Senior Volunteer Program (CSVP) is happy to announce that we will be extending the hours of our Senior Nutrition Lunch Program (SNP). Beginning Monday, May 5, lunch will be served from 11:30am-1:00pm.
While the lunch program is expanding, the breakfast menu will limit made to order options and instead offer a variety of light morning refreshments, including coffee, tea, hot chocolate, orange juice, bagels, toast, and assorted pastries. These items will be available for purchase Monday through Friday, 9:00-11:00am.
We appreciate your continued support of our café, staff, and volunteers.

*In an effort to promote fairness, there is a limit of one haircut per person, per month*

Complimentary haircuts are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Only 12 haircuts will be given each day. To determine the order once haircuts begin at 10:00am, numbers 1-12 will be handed out to the first 12 senior adults in line. Doors open at 8:30am. HAIRCUT ONLY, NO BLOW DRY OR STYLING.

THERAPY DOGS

Therapy dogs and their handlers visit the Goebel Adult Center on the first Tuesday's of each month to provide comfort and happiness to everyone. Stop by to say hi! Love on a Leash® is committed to bringing comfort, happiness and healing to more people nationwide by increasing public awareness of pet-provided therapy. A therapy pet's primary function is to brighten someone's day!

SEEKING VOLUNTEER SPANISH INSTRUCTOR
We are looking for a volunteer instructor who can teach a weekly Spanish class for a group of senior adults at the Goebel Adult Community Center. This established class has been meeting and practicing Spanish for over six years. While a native speaker is not required, the volunteer must be capable of teaching Spanish grammar, vocabulary, and conversational skills. TAX ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
The free Tax Return Preparation program, provided by Conejo Senior Volunteer Program (CSVP), has ended but CSVP will continue to provide Tax Assistance services at the Conejo Creek South Community Building on the first Wednesdays of each month from May-October. CSVP will prepare and file income tax returns for years 2021-2024, prepare amended returns, and lend assistance with questions arising from letters and notices from the IRS or Franchise Tax Board, as well as other general tax related issues. Appointments are required. Call the CSVP office, 805-381-2742 to make an appointment.

Did you know that it’s illegal to place batteries of all sizes, both rechargeable and single-use, in your waste bins? Batteries become hazardous waste once they are discarded. To promote safe disposal, a battery recycling bin is located outside the main entrance of the Goebel Adult Center, where you can recycle household batteries responsibly.

The Goebel Senior Center Commission (GSCC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community service organization that establishes policies relative to the operation of the Goebel Adult Community Center (GACC), as well as, acquires and allocates funds to benefit the GACC.
