The three albums to date from Sanjosex have become vital, with intimate, exciting, fresh and organic songs. > This opera is a reflection of social customs of the nineteenth century, reflecting on the role of women in society and moral prejudices and hypocrisies of the high bourgeoisie in Paris at the time. This new production of the Teatre Principal, part of the 25th anniversary of the opera season, is led by Massimo Gasparon on scene and Jari Haemaelaeinen on music. The performance stars Silvia Vázquez (Violet), one of the greatest Spanish sopranos of the moment, and the tenor Bruno Ribeiro (Alfredo). La Traviata is probably the most widely known opera ever since its release in 1853. > Esta ópera es el reflejo de las costumbres sociales del siglo XIX y en ella aparecen sesudas reflexiones sobre el papel de la mujer en la sociedad, y sobre los prejuicios morales e hipocresías de la alta burguesía en el París de la época. Esta nueva producción del Teatre Principal, enmarcada en el 25 aniversario de su Temporada de Ópera, está dirigida por Massimo Gasparon en la escena y por Jari Haemaelaeinen en la parte musical. There are no accurate statistics, but it is known since its release in 1986 this “perfect comedy”, as defined by the critics, is becoming younger. In all these years it appears to have been gaining in freshness and universality, as has been growing the prominence of woman in the profound changes of social conventions. So, perhaps, the work of the youthful author from Liverpool, Willy Russell, has not ceased to represent a single day somewhere in the world. The show goes on and grows in historical record. With this production they have had great luck as Veronica Forqué fell in love with the project. > Shirley Valentine es, tal vez, el mayor éxito de la historia del teatro actual. No hay estadísticas precisas, pero sí es conocido que desde su estreno en 1986 esta “comedia perfecta”, como fue definida por la crítica, es cada día más joven. En todos estos años parece que haya ido ganando en frescura y universalidad, según ha ido creciendo el protagonismo de la mujer en los profundos cambios de los convencionalismos sociales. Por eso, tal vez, la obra del entonces joven autor de Liverpool Willy Russell no se ha dejado de representar ni un solo día en algún lugar del mundo. Y sigue y sigue creciendo su record histórico. > Before starting his solo career, El Guincho was the drummer from the band “Coconut” and also took part in other bands such as “La Orquesta De La Muerte”. His style is sampler music blend with tropical music and African rhythms. In 2009 he launched four EPs with remixes for his album Alegranza, “Antillas” y “Kalise”, in which bands such as Architecture in Helsinki, Delorean and Prins Thomas featured. In 2010, he published his third album, Pop Black, whose first single was Bombay. The album received a good critical appraisal, and was classified as the best work of the year by Mondo Sonoro and Rockdelux magazines. > Antes de comenzar su carrera en solitario, El Guincho era el baterista del grupo “Coconot” y participante en otros grupos como “La Orquesta De La Muerte”. 33 Desde siempre Tonia Fuster ha sentido interés por la iluminación de espacios y las formas lumínicas. Sus primeras creaciones fueron destinadas a regalos para amigos o simples experimentos. Pero realmente todo empezó por un proyecto de clase, en la Escuela Superior de Diseño, donde actualmente estudia 3º de Diseño de Producto y donde nació la primera lámpara, Scott. Tras varias exposiciones y shoprooms, hace unas semanas Tonia obtuvo el 1er premio en la modalidad de Diseño de Producto en el Certamen Art Jove. “En el aspecto artístico-formal, las lámparas reflejan un amor semi-inconsciente hacia el medio natural. Semi-inconsciente porque al diseñar no me inspiro en algo concreto; realmente es al ver el resultado final cuando me doy cuenta que tengo arraigada una fuerte influencia orgánica y animalista, con un lenguaje que suele recordar al nórdico, y que me surge más del subconsciente

Las lámparas de la colección - todas ellas hechas a mano - tienen como características comunes el uso de la madera como material natural, un cálido efecto lumínico, su inspiración orgánica y su estructura montable. “Madera y luz son la combinación perfecta para convertir un espacio en cálido y acogedor. Las lámparas de la colección dan un punto de personalidad, vitalidad y frescura al ambiente, creando una ilusión lumínica y, por lo tanto, una agradable sensación, evadiendo de la cotidianeidad a quien las disfruta.” “Ilusiónate, ilumínate” es el nuevo eslogan que hace referencia a una metáfora entre la ilusión y la iluminación en un espacio, y que representa totalmente la filosofía de sus lámparas. Recientemente, Albert Ramis, diseñador gráfico, desarrolló la imagen corporativa de su colección. Su próximo objetivo es la comercialización en tiendas relacionadas con la decoración, o similares y, si es posible, la venta para locales de restauración y hoteles. He is currently studying art at IES Josep María Llompart. “Thanks to the influence of my father, a great photographer, I have been fortunate to always have a camera within reach and the best teacher. I never really had an identifiable style, I just took pictures – typical sunsets, travel monuments…until I began to capture moments that caught my attention, without shame. At home I saw a book about Israel by the Magnum agency. I was impressed. While investigating the agency I saw a video about Bruce Gilden. Leaving the house, walking through New York, noticing a curious man, taking a photo directly in front of his face – without fear. That’s what I wanted. To take risks to capture the best moment. The decisive moment of CartierBresson. It’s surprising the number of pictures that I miss every time I leave the house without the camera, I never forget them. So that’s what I do, take pictures with documentary characteristics
and images that depict the street whenever possible. I try to capture aspects of everyday from another point of view. I have an inquiring mind and am always thinking of something new to do.” This year Ian has started promoting his work by submitting it in several photo contests; 3 openings in two nights, an awardwinning picture at the 25th Palma Marathon of Photography, a prize for originality with Atiàrfoc, and finalist at the Art Jove visual arts contest where he had an exhibition in Ses Voltes together with some of the best emerging artists from the Balearics. Furthermore, he has just finished a documental series for a Photo España contest and another one in process about Palma and part of its history within a very particular sphere. He has spent several days in Deià over the past year to take pictures of the people and the village environment for a project that will be exhibited in Hotel La Residencia and in September he will be exhibiting at La Feria del Arte, an event that will bring together artists from across the Balearics and abroad.

Su nombre es Ian Waelder Vásquez. Nació en 1993 en Madrid pero vive en Mallorca desde el 94. Estudia 1º de bachillerato artístico en el IES Josep María Llompart. “Gracias a la influencia de mi padre, un gran fotógrafo, he tenido la suerte de poder tener siempre una cámara al alcance de mi mano y al mejor maestro, pero nunca tuve un estilo con el que me identificase realmente, simplemente hacía fotos, las típicas puestas de sol, monumentos de viajes; hasta que comencé a captar momentos que me llamasen la atención, sin verguenza. Por casa vi un libro sobre un reportaje de Israel de parte de la agencia Magnum. Me quedé impresionado. Investigando sobre la agencia vi un vídeo sobre Bruce Gilden. Salir de su casa, pasear por Nueva York, ver a un señor un tanto curioso y zas, hacerle la foto en frente de su cara. Sin miedos. Eso es lo que yo quería hacer. Tomar riesgos para capturar el mejor momento. El momento decisivo de Cartier-Bresson. Es sorprendente la cantidad de fotos que me pierdo cada vez que salgo de casa sin la cámara. Nunca las olvido. Así que eso es lo que hago, imágenes con características documentales y retratando la calle siempre que pueda. Trato de captar aspectos de la vida cotidiana vistos de otro ángulo. Tengo una mente inquieta y siempre estoy pensando en algo nuevo que hacer.” Este año Ian ha comenzado a promover su obra participando en varios concursos; tres inauguraciones en dos noches, una foto premiada en la 25º Maratón de Palma Fotográfica, el premio a la originalidad del Atiàrfoc, finalista en el certamen de artes visuales Art Jove, donde expuso en Ses Voltes junto con otros artistas emergentes en Baleares. Además, acaba de terminar una serie documental para un concurso de Photo España y tiene otro en curso acerca de Palma y su historia en un ámbito muy peculiar. También ha visitado Deià en varias ocasiones a lo largo de un año para retratar a su gente y el ambiente del pueblo para un proyecto que se exhibirá en el Hotel La Residencia y en septiembre expondrá en La Feria del Arte, un evento que reunirá a artistas de las Islas y del extranjero.
