OURCLASSICALAPPROACH

AtChristAcademy,weemploythethinkingskillsoftheTriviumtohelpstudentsprogressfromthe grammar(concrete/knowledge),tothelogic(puzzling/reasoning),totherhetoric(philosophy/copious outpouring)ofeach“subject.” Bysubjectwemeanthe“itemtobestudied.”Wedothisthrougheach eldofstudy:humanities,language,mathematics,science,andthearts Ouraimistoguidestudents intoadeepparticipationwitheachskillandsubject.

Humanities(Recommend:12credits)4years

Studentswillreceivearobusthumanitiesinstructionthrougherasoftime: AncientWorld,Medieval World,ModernWorldandUSHistory. Asstudentsmovethroughtheseerasoftimeinhistorythey willreadacombinationoforiginalsources,historicalctionandgreatbooksthatembodytheseerasof time TheywillalsoreadlargeportionsoftheBibleandbooksontheology Literature,Historyand TheologycreditswillbereceivedbythosewhomeettheirCreditObjectives Composition&Rhetoric skillsareintertwinedinthiscourseandstudentswillreceivea.25creditinthiseldofstudyannually.

Mathematics(Recommend:4credits)4years

Studentswillbegivenadeepunderstandingofalgebra,geometry,trigonometryandcalculus.Students whochoosenottoproceedtocalculuswillbegiventheoptiontostudystatisticsorbusinessmath.

Science(Recommend:4credits)4years

Studentswillreceiveadeepandrigorousstudyinphysicalscience,chemicalscienceandthebiological sciences. Weuseexperimentsasfoundationaltothescienticprocessofhypothesisandconclusion, fosteringcuriosity,inquiry,andwonder.

Latin(Recommend:4credits)4years

StudentsbegintheirLatinstudiesatLevel1andprogressthroughLevel4orasfarastheyareable. Latinallowsourstudentspracticeingrammar,etymology,masteryoflanguageskillsandrichhistorical contextofthelanguagethatisfoundationaltoourwesternworld

Electives(Recommend:4credits)4years

Studentswillearn2Musiccreditsand1ArtAppreciationcreditthroughChristAcademyin4years Theymayobtainotherelectivecredits,suchasPhysicalEducation,throughouruniqueElectiveCredit Program(seebelow).

SeniorThesis

InAprilofastudent’sJunioryear,heorshewillsubmitaSeniorThesisProposaltotheEducation Council Itwillbeeitherapproved,sentbackforrevisionordeniedwithresubmissionguidelinesso thestudentcanbegintheprojectoverthesummer(priortotheirSenioryear). TheSeniorThesiswill bedueinApriloftheproposedgraduationyearandwillbepresentedtotheboardandtheEducation Council Thiswillbethecapstoneofourprogram
