A NOTE FROM THE HEADMASTER

Dear Jubilee Family,

The year is in full swing and we have been a busy bunch! In October, we have had a Reformation Day filled with little surprises and large pizzas! I got the privilege of singing with Mrs. Howell's Primary A class, and entered my office only to find a leaf of the Bible with the following inscription attached: "I, William Tyndale, ask that you hide this portion of the Holy Scripture so that the Papists do not destroy this English translation created for the common man. May God bless you in this effort."

We also had our first family dance of the school year where students and parents came and jigged, polkad, waltzed, and even slid electrically. It was fun seeing everyone having a great time together, and especially the young ladies, who were kept on the dance floor by our hard working

young men (and one another). I enjoyed the opportunity to talk with parents. Mrs. Owsley deserves a huge thank you for all of her effort putting that together.

As the leaves rapidly change color and the cool air finally sets in, I am looking forward to November and the many activities it holds. I am especially excited for the Thanksgiving Feast and the approaching Advent season. I look forward to singing songs of thanksgiving, and Christmas songs with the Jubilee students.

FACULTY HIGHLIGHT

Lauren McMurray

Hello! I’m Lauren McMurray, one of the teachers for Primary C. My husband Phil and I have lived on the Palouse since the late 90s, we have five kids (17-8), all of whom attend The Jubilee School: Bryce, Deacon, Kyle, Sean, and Caroline. We live in the woods with so many pets, and love hunting, four wheeling, feasting and potlucks, playing games, and watching funny old shows and old movies together. I love to rearrange spaces with the seasons, gardening, and to read and discuss books with my kids we’re very excited about Literary Character Day!

I came from Coeur d’Alene to attend the University of Idaho where I graduated in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Reading Recovery. I’ve had experience teaching in public

schools, working with at risk youth, presenting in classrooms to children and fellow teachers, volunteering at children’s camps, and taught for the last three years at a classical Christian school. Pivoting to teach at The Jubilee School, where our whole family can be together, has been a dream for our family! Two of our children were at The Jubilee School from nearly the very beginning and we’ve been thrilled to see the school expand to serve more families.
