Salvation

Marriageistheunitingofonemanandonewomanincovenantcommitmentforalifetime.ItisGod’s uniquegifttorevealtheunionbetweenChristandHischurchandtoprovideforthemanandthe womaninmarriagetheframeworkforintimatecompanionship,thechannelofsexualexpression accordingtobiblicalstandards,andthemeansforprocreationofthehumanrace ThehusbandandwifeareofequalworthbeforeGod,sincebotharecreatedinGod’simage.The marriagerelationshipmodelsthewayGodrelatestoHispeople.AhusbandistolovehiswifeasChrist lovedthechurch.HehastheGod-givenresponsibilitytoprovidefor,toprotect,andtoleadhisfamily. Awifeistosubmitherselfgraciouslytotheservantleadershipofherhusbandevenasthechurch willinglysubmitstotheheadshipofChrist.She,beingintheimageofGodasisherhusbandandthus equaltohim,hastheGod-givenresponsibilitytorespectherhusbandandtoserveashishelperin managingthehouseholdandnurturingthenextgeneration.
