Clothinghistoricallycallsattentiontotherolesomeonehasinsociety(e.g., lawenforcement,firefighters,medicalprofessionals,clergy,athletes, military).Schooluniformsareavisualreminderofthepurposeofstudents–tolearn.
Clothingchoicesarenotneutralandhaveoftenbeenusedasawayof distinguishingpeople(e.g.,socio-economics,namebrands,preferences). Uniformsremovethedistraction
Whileclothingisoftenconsideredameansofpersonalexpression,uniforms remindstudentsthattheirprimaryexpressioncomesfromcharacter choicesratherthanclothingchoices.
Uniformsengenderasenseofcommonidentityandgoals.Whetherin PrimaryPreporSecondary,thestudentsarepartofacommunitythat strivestogether.
