Theadmissionsprocedurewillallowtheschooltoaccuratelyidentifyandadmitstudentsfromfamilieswho haveclearlyexpressedconvictionsthataresimilartotheschool’sregardingtheeducationofchildren.The selectionandmake-upoftheschool’sstudentbodyissecondonlytostaselectionintheimpactithasuponthe school’smission.Thefamily-likeatmosphereARROWSseekstofosterwillbedueingreatmeasuretothe similarityofbiblicalconvictionsandprinciplestaughtandlivedoutinmanyofthehomesofourstudents.As theLordblessesuswithgrowthandchange,wewanttodoallwecantomaintainandbuildupthatatmosphere

Astudent’sacademicachievementswillbeconsideredintheapplicationprocess,butonlyforclassplacement, notastheprimarydeterminantforacceptance.Weareseekingtoenrollthosestudentswho,becauseoftheir ownfamilies’priorities,willmostbenetfromwhatARROWScanoerthem.

2. InterviewRequest

Completeaninterviewrequestformwithquestionsrelatedtoyourfamily.Apastoralreferencewillalso berequested.Uponapprovalyouwillbeinvitedtoanadmissionsinterview.PleasereadARROWS SchoolParent/StudentHandbookinitsentiretybeforeschedulingafamilyinterview.Wehighly recommendthatthisinformationbereviewedanddiscussedasafamilyandthatyouprayfortheLord’s guidanceinthisdecisionforyourfamily

3. CompleteApplication

AfteryourfamilyinterviewandapprovalwiththeAdmissionsTeam,wewillsendyouaFamily Applicationtocomplete Uponreceivingandreviewingyourapplication,theHeadofSchool,with counselfromtheAdmissionsTeam,willmakethenaladmissionsdecisionandwillcontacttheparents withthedecisionregardingacceptance

ADMISSIONREQUIREMENTSFORTHESTUDENT

Achildmustbeatleast5yearsoldbySeptemberoftheacademicyeartoapplyforenrollment Studentswillbe assessedforplacementintheappropriatelearninglevel Ourgoalisthelong-termsuccessofthestudentinan academicenvironmentasopposedtoautomaticpromotionbasedonage,thusstudentsplacementwillbe relatedtomasteryofskillsratherthanage.

ParentsshouldhaveaclearunderstandingoftheBiblicalphilosophyandpurposeofARROWS This understandingincludesawillingnesstohavetheirchildexposedtotheclearBible-basedteachingoftheschool's StatementofFaithinvariousandfrequentwayswithintheschool'sprogram.Theparentsshouldbewillingto cooperatewithallthewrittenpoliciesofArrowsChristianAcademy.Thisismostimportantintheareaof disciplineandschoolworkstandards,aswellasactivecommunicationwiththerespectiveteachersand administration.

RE-ENROLLMENT

AtthediscretionoftheHeadofSchool,inconsultationwiththeEducationCouncil,astudentmayberefused re-enrollment.Suchrefusaltore-enrollisnotconsideredadirectdisciplinaryact,requiringaccumulatedoce visitsinordertobetaken.Refusaltore-enrollisnottheequivalentofsuspensionorexpulsion.

RE-ADMITTANCE

Shouldastudentwhowasexpelled,orwhowithdrewtopreventexpulsion,desiretobere-admittedto ARROWS atalaterdate,theEducationCouncil,inconsultationwiththeHeadofSchool,willmakeadecision basedonthestudent'sattitudeandcircumstances.

SCHOOLCULTURE

Ifastudenthasasignicantnegativeinuenceonotherstudents,theHeadofSchoolhastherighttoseekto expelthestudent,apartfromtheprocessofocevisits.

A structureddisciplineplanwillbeimplementedfortheclassroomwhilevaryingtheconsequencesbasedonthe heartofthechildandtheparent’sinput Althoughourmethodofhelpingthemreachthestandardofloving Godandourneighbormaybedierent,thestandardremains

Teacherswillcommunicatewithfamiliesdailythroughacommentsectionontheclassdailycalendar. EXCESSIVEOFFICEVISITS

Asnotedabove,thepurposeofthedisciplinepolicyistoshapegodlycharacterinthestudent Ifitbecomes apparenttotheHeadofSchoolthatthestudent’scharacterisnotimprovingovertimeand/orisbecoming worsetothedetrimentoftheschoolculture,theHeadofSchoolwillmeetwiththeparentsandtheywillcome upwithaplantoresolvetheissue.TheHeadofSchoolwillalsomeetwiththeparentsincaseswherethestudent exhibitsalackofrepentanceorlacks interestinattendingARROWS.TheHeadofSchoolmay,athis discretion,allowforadditionalmeetingswiththeparentsifthepreviousdisciplineplantohelpthestudentwas unsuccessful.Tohelptheparentsunderstandtheirchild’sbehavior,theymayberequiredtositwiththestudent duringapartoralloftheschoolday IftheHeadofSchooldeterminesthatthestudent’sbehavioralissuestill cannotbecorrectedthroughthedisciplineplan(s)generatedbythemeeting(s)withtheparents,thenitwillbe considereda“SeriousDisciplineCase”

IftheHeadofSchoolhasdeterminedthatthestudent’swordsorbehaviorconstituteaSeriousDisciplineCase, thestudentwillbesubjecttoadisciplinehearingbeforetheschoolboard.Thedisciplinehearingwillincludethe student,theparent(s),theteacher(ifapplicable),theHeadofSchool,andschoolboardmembers(where necessarytheboardmaybringinadvisorsorspecialiststoassistwiththediscussionssurroundingthediscipline process) Atthispointtheschoolboardwilldeterminethenecessarycourseofaction,whichmayinclude suspensionorexpulsionofthestudent.Tuitionwillnotbereimbursedforsuspensionsorexpulsions.

AtARROWSChristianAcademy,weunderstandthatdisciplineanddiscipleshiparesharedresponsibilities betweenhomeandschool.Consistentboundariesandconsequencesareessentialforourstudents'growth,as theylearnthataccountabilityisanexpressionofloveandcare.AsHebrews12:6remindsus,“theLord disciplinestheoneheloves,”underscoringtheimportanceofunieddisciplinebothatschoolandathome.We askthatparentsactivelysupporttheschool'seortsbyreinforcingthesevaluesathome,ensuringthatevery consequenceandboundarysetinourclassroomsismirroredinthefamilyenvironment Demonstratingunity(1 Peter3:8),showingrespectforauthority(Romans13:1-7),andpracticingbiblicalconictresolution(Matthew 18:15)areessentialforfosteringanenvironmentofcooperationbetweenparentsandtheschool.Byaligningin bothdisciplineanddiscipleship,wecultivateadeepersenseofunityandpurposeinguidingourstudentstoward becomingmature,Christ-likeindividuals.

FAILINGANDRETAKES
