HANOVER COURT AND PRINCESS COURT STEERING GROUP – TERMS OF REFERENCE Background •
In November 2021, the Council commenced an initial consultation with residents to explore possible improvement routes for Hanover Court and Princess Court (‘the estate’).
•
The outcome of the initial consultation exercises was submitted as part of a report to the Council’s Housing Scrutiny Committee (‘HSC’) on 20th January 2022.
•
The HSC approved the development of a project plan for appraisal work on the estate to include options for refurbishment and redevelopment.
•
In addition, approval was given to commence a consultation process with residents and for a decant process to take effect on an immediate basis in advance of a decision on the future of the estate.
•
The establishment of a Steering Group (‘SG’) was proposed to form part of the consultation process and developed following the outcome of the HSC.
Aims •
To provide members of the Steering Group with regular updates on the work undertaken by the Council to appraise both redevelopment and refurbishment options.
•
To provide an opportunity for SG members to share issues raised by residents and for these to be directed to the relevant council officer or team for response.
Responsibilities of the Steering Group •
To represent the interests of all tenants and leaseholders when considering the work undertaken by the Council in appraising options for the future of the estate.
•
To raise relevant questions and comment upon the options appraisal and the decant process for tenants and leaseholders.
•
To provide signposting assistance to residents and inform the SG of any additional communication methods that could be used.
•
To uphold the confidentiality of information provided to them. 1
