Hillington Square Phase Five
Freebridge Community Housing are delighted to announce that the long-awaited next phase of the Hillington Square regeneration project is due to commence in July 2023.
This next phase, which encompasses Farrow House and the last remaining sections of Ladysmith & Vicarage Houses, will involve refurbishment of the existing buildings and include the replacement of the existing lift core with a brand-new structure similar to those on previous completed phases
These works will once again be carried out by our preferred contractor Lovell Partnerships, who undertook phases one to four - and we anticipate works on this phase to be completed in Winter 2024/25.
As with previous phases, there will be some unavoidable noise and vibration disturbance to those surrounding the scheme, but this will be monitored to ensure that we work within levels acceptable to the Environmental Health Department at the Borough Council and that we cause as little disruption as possible.
Working hours on the refurbishment will be restricted to Monday to Friday (8am5pm) with any additional hours agreed and notified in advance.

Members of the team from Lovell and Freebridge will be available for you to meet at a drop in event held inside of Providence Street Community Centre on Tuesday 25th July between 8.30am and 10am and 3pm to 4.30pm Individuals from both organisations will be available to show you plans for the refurbishment works and to answer any questions or concerns which you may have surrounding this next phase of works.
You should also expect to receive separate information about similar drop in event which will also be held on Tuesday 25th July, with times to follow. This drop in event will concern the planning application that is currently being considered by the Council, regarding the demolition and rebuilding of the final phase at Hillington Square.
