Thomas Pink unveiled its first standalone outlet in Abu Dhabi at The Galleria last year. Its wares – largely comprising luxury shirts and ties – are quintessentially British and the store concept reflects this. The 1,216-square-foot boutique is bold yet sophisticated. Rich limed-oak panelling contrasts with stainless steel fixtures. Wooden shelving displays the brand’s multicoloured ranges of formal and informal shirts, while wooden units tempt customers with deluxe accessories such as pocket squares and cuff links. Underfoot lies a herringbone floor of polished black granite accented with a narrow band of tiling in the signature Thomas Pink colour, bringing out the shades that are then accentuated by the natural light flooding in from a large window overlooking the mall’s waterfront. Look closer and figurines of Thomas Pink’s Cheeky Fox emblem pop up around the boutique and hints of British pride are prominent via cleverly placed books about London, miniature London cabs and Union Jack-print chairs and accessories. Once inside, customers could well feel as though they’re in Thomas Pink’s flagship boutique on London’s Jermyn Street, far from the modern extravagance of The Galleria.
