Beethoven en Schubert leverden baanbrekend werk door de viool en de piano als gelijkwaardige partners te behandelen in hun sonates. Viktoria Mullova en Kristian Bezuidenhout staan garant voor een vertolking waarin emotionele intensiteit en speeltechnische accuratesse de voornaamste ingrediënten vormen. De authentieke instrumenten van het duo verlenen het concert een uniek karakter.

En traitant dans leurs sonates le piano et le violon sur pied d’égalité, Beethoven et Schubert ont ouvert une nouvelle voie. In Burengerucht, De Volharding – the Dutch standardbearer for new music – is focusing on Flanders. They chose Luc Brewaeys as their key figure, and as well as presenting a brand new composition he was allowed to select the rest of the programme. So you can also expect creations by his younger colleagues Annelies Van Parys and Filip Rathé, plus a contemporary British view of Flemish polyphony by Michael Finnissy. Figure de proue néerlandaise de la nouvelle musique, l’orchestre De Volharding porte dans Burengerucht son regard chez les voisins flamands, avec Luc Brewaeys comme figure centrale. Outre une de ses propres compositions flambant neuves, ce dernier a également choisi des créations de ses collègues plus jeunes Annelies Van Parys et Filip Rathé, tandis que Michael Finnissy propose son propre regard contemporain et british sur la polyphonie flamande.

Met Burengerucht richt Orkest De Volharding – Nederlands vaandeldrager van de nieuwe muziek – de blik op Vlaanderen. Als spilfiguur kozen ze Luc Brewaeys, die naast een gloednieuwe eigen compositie, ook de rest van het programma mocht kiezen. Verwacht u dus ook aan creaties van zijn jongere collega’s Annelies Van Parys en Filip Rathé en aan een eigentijdse, Britse kijk op Vlaamse polyfonie door Michael Finnissy.
