EDITORIAL LETTER

Working as a team makes us stronger. Both within our own company and when we do it with partners or allies to develop specific programs. This time we will discuss the alliances between two of our divisions and Fundación Grupo México.

EDITORIAL LETTER

A company like ours needs innovation to drive the projects that will enable us to achieve the future we aspire to. When innovation comes from within, it gives us satisfaction not only because we are proud of the talent of our employees but also because we recognise that no one knows what is needed as they do. For ten years our Mining Division has been promoting the development of safety-oriented innovation projects within our di erent units in México and Perú. This year, the winning project was "La Bala" from our Charcas Unit.

Grupo México Transportes joined CN and Union Pacific Railroad to o er the new Falcon Premium intermodal service, which will allow us, by combining the unique benefits of each partner, to provide the best transit times and reliability in North America.

The Infrastructure Division incorporated the leading company in developing shopping centers, Planigrupo, into its operations. We are confident that this union will enable us to provide the best service to our customers.

Through the Network of Associations, Fundación Grupo México launched the program "La Red se mueve" (The Network Moves), with which it seeks to consolidate and expand its capacity to promote high-impact programs in the areas of health, environment, corporate volunteering, education and culture.

SAFETY CELLS OF THE MINING DIVISION: 12 YEARS OF SAFETY INNOVATION

Since 2011, the Mining Division has organized an internal forum for safety innovation projects developed by employees. The teams, called Safety Cells, present initiatives to improve safety and working conditions. The winning projects receive a budget to be implemented in the operating units.

The criteria evaluated by the jury, integrated by representatives of the Ministry of Labor, the IMSS, the Mexican Mining Chamber, and the company, are the following:

Since the beginning of this initiative, more than 260 projects have been received. Thanks to the success of this initiative, this practice will be replicated next year in the Transport and Infrastructure divisions.

The winner of the tenth edition of the Safety Cells Forum, held in 2022 and involving teams from México and Perú, was "La Bala", a winch guide cable lubricator for underground mines. "La Bala" was developed at the Charcas Unit in San Luis Potosí, México.

Two "winches" are available in subway mines for descending and ascending from the mine levels. These hoists operate with cables and pulleys that, with the application of force, help to remove the ore. In case of contingency, they can also be used to evacuate personnel. For this reason, constant

maintenance and lubrication of the cables is essential. The lubrication activity used to be carried out manually by four employees, lasting approximately four hours and involving certain risks to the physical integrity of the employees.

The Charcas Mining Unit's Safety Cell presented and implemented a solution: the automated capsule "La Bala" which, adapted to the winch guide cable, injects grease under pressure. This allows a reduction in risk and a decrease in the time required to perform the task. In addition, it improves the lubrication quality of the cables, giving them longer service life. "La Bala" will be replicated in the di erent subway mines located in

THE PROJECTS DEVELOPED BY THE SAFETY CELLS ARE UNFOLDED BY COLLABORATORS TO IMPROVE OPERATIONAL PROCESSES. THIS YEAR, THE PROJECT "LA BALA" FROM THE CHARCAS UNIT WAS THE WINNER FOR CONTRIBUTING TO THE LUBRICATION OF CABLES AND PULLEYS IN SUBWAY MINES
