Hi There, Hope-Giver!

Thank you for joining us to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name. Your generosity is what empowers us to chase Christ’s promise of wholeness for young people in poverty who often go forgotten.

We want you to see for yourself the difference you’ve made for God’s kingdom through your kindness. Because when it’s done in his name, a little kindness can change the world.

“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’”
— MATTHEW 25:21, NIV

Parched Grounds Into Gardens

Generous givers like you bring relief to people facing grave food crises in countries like Burkina Faso.

Like many countries, hunger is on the rise in Burkina Faso. The causes are complex and vary from community to community. Several factors play a role, including conflict, rising prices and extreme weather events.

But for Fabrice, all his hunger came back to one thing: water scarcity. There was only one water pump for every man, woman, child and animal in his whole village. Without water, crops didn’t grow during the long dry season. And in a community where 90.4% of the population endures poverty, soaring food prices took buying food off the table.

But supporters like you have equipped churches to meet these urgent needs. As the need has grown, the churches we work with have used your gifts to meet the challenge head-on.

For Fabrice, that meant his local Compassion center provided a solar-powered borehole. The borehole draws clean water from deep in the earth. To alleviate the

Because of supporters like you, what once was parched ground is now green and life-giving to a whole community.

Remembering His Children

God is bringing love to babies and moms forgotten by their communities.

Denise was born with just four fingers: her pinkie and thumb on each hand. Her father immediately rejected her and abandoned the family. As she grew up, everyone mocked her disability. The shame was so great that she could barely talk to others. She thought of herself as less than human.

Not even her marriage to Claude, a shoemaker, could heal her heart. And when they had a baby, the shame of her situation felt even worse as they struggled to provide for their little one.

Poverty complicates all pregnancies and childhoods. But women and babies with disabilities are at special risk. And sometimes social stigma can be as deadly as disease. Women and babies with disabilities are often cast to the edge of society with no incomes or access to medical care and forgotten.

But God remembered Denise. Desperate, she reached out to her local church for support. And to her surprise, they welcomed her with open arms. Compassion Togo

has been expanding the Survival program for babies and moms to better reach those with disabilities. With the help of Christian Blind Mission, a Christian ministry serving the disabled worldwide, they now serve 121 disabled moms and babies.

What surprised Denise most was that they loved her. The Survival center staff saw something that no one else did — that she was a precious child of God just as much as her baby. She went from having no friends to joining a network of moms who laugh with her and share her burdens.

God has turned her sorrow into joy. She and her baby are thriving as she becomes the mother God created her to be. And it’s because you and others like you choose to be the hands and feet of Christ to babies and moms in poverty.

Raising Children of Light

Good news is reaching distant and spiritually dark places.

“The church has to reach beyond the altar.” That’s Frans’ mission. He’s the pastor of a church in Taebone, a rural Indonesian village. Resources are scarce. So is hope.

“Changing the mindset and way of living is the hardest task if you want to transform this community,” says Frans.

Like Frans, we’re convinced that the local church is the greatest hope for children in poverty. It’s the body of Christ in out-of-the-way places like Taebone. And where Christ is present, so is hope.

As we’ve opened centers in those rural regions where poverty runs rampant, we’ve seen what the light of the gospel can do. “The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor” (Matthew 11:5,

Frans knew for years that Compassion could make a tremendous difference in Taebone. So he saw it as a miracle when Compassion opened a center in his church. After just a few short months, 100 students are registered in the program, and Frans is working with Immanuel,

the Compassion partnership facilitator, to identify the community’s most urgent needs.

In addition to meeting specific community needs, Compassion always provides a child development program involving medical care, education, child safety protocols, disaster relief and more.

But above all, every child in the program hears the good news of what Christ did for them on the cross.

Ending poverty always begins with hope. And because of supporters like you, the light of Christ’s hope is shining in places like Taebone. You’re laying the groundwork for years of gospel work in the places that need it most.

Through generous supporters like you, this promise of God is being realized for children in poverty. The good news of Jesus changes everything. It sanctifies hearts. It drives out darkness. It turns death into life. And it makes the deserts of poverty into gardens of blessing.

Thank you for partnering with us in this work for his kingdom.
