PURPOSEFUL THANKSGIVING

This is one of my favorite seasons of the year – Thanksgiving! There are many reasons for each of us to be thankful. I will share my Top 5 Thanksgiving Blessings for which I am most grateful in 2025.
#5 Born in America I have often heard from some of friends born in foreign countries that “Americans are very fortunate to be born in this country ” They continue to inform me that our country provides so much opportunity for success and the benefits of being born American provides a “top rung” start on the ladder of success This is something that I appreciate and acknowledge Education is easily obtained in the USA if you wish to work for it Career and entrepreneurism are started with only a few dollars of capital due to the overwhelming market of buyers in our country. Success is defined differently for everyone. However, to possess the ability to establish and live the life I design is the true meaning of success. I am thankful for my country.
#4 Lifetime Learning Results in life depend on what you wish to contribute to the process of growing as a person If your idea is to rely on government for your livelihood, you may expect extraordinarily little in life However, if you desire to live a more vibrant life filled with travel, housing, lifetime income, transportation of your choosing and legacy creation, you must put more of yourself into the process of growth Today, our business is remarkably successful because of the commitment and vision we have developed as a team The small seed of the vision I saw forty years ago is coming to fruition. Challenges can be overcome in life by applying our energies to creating, maintaining, and growing our future in the same manner as we grow our companies. Many challenges look easier to overcome when you roll up your sleeves and take action. Our company and team are especially important in my life and I am thankful to lead them.
#3 Community It is a tremendous blessing to live in a community that supports one another and invests in the future for our children Our approach to helping neighbors is unique compared to other countries After ecological disasters, it is common to see people give of their time, talent, and treasure to help their fellow man with aid During the recent government shutdown, I witnessed individuals buying and delivering food to those in need. That is what “community” means to me. I am thankful for our city, the leadership, and its citizens.
#2. Capitalism. This may seem like a silly reason for being thankful but, for me, it has meant a lifetime of living in a manner that gives me the most joy. It is so empowering to be able to work in a profession you enjoy and build your business in the community you love There have been opportunities for us to move to larger cities and build a larger enterprise than we have enjoyed at this point However, happiness is far more than growing your net worth and amassing wealth – it is about being happy with the person you become and life that is lived in the manner you desire I am thankful for a system of economic growth that rewards us for our intellectual capital and dedication to a profession that brings great value to the marketplace
#1. Family and Friends. The material items you accumulate in life simply add clutter to our world. True value is derived from the life we share with others and the impact we make on our community of friends. It has been said, “You don’t get to choose your parents ” I must have won the family lottery because my parents have always been incredibly supportive and encouraging in my education, my career, and my company The people on our team at Compass Capital Management, LLC are not simply employees – they are my friends May goal has always been to help others build a life they desire and in doing so it has given me everything I desire My most valuable Thanksgiving Blessing is my family and friends
This Thanksgiving, stop for few minutes and think about the joyful activities and individuals that make life special for you. Thank you to the McAlester News Capital Team for allowing me to serve our community each week with inspiration, education, and imagination. These articles are small measures in helping our community improve in mindset and wealth. Trust you share a special week of Thanksgiving with those special in your life. I certainly plan to do so.
