My area of ministry is the workbench God will use to shape me into the image of Christ.

I am to prepare my heart in advance and show up early, modeling Christ so He can do great things in others through me.

WELCOME

To: The Families of Community Church, What a year 2019 has been! As I look over the past year, one of the themes is apparent: we are a Christ-centered church committed to helping people heal and become fully devoted followers of Christ through loving God and loving others.

In 2019, this has been demonstrated by your generosity of time, talents, and resources. You were willing to sacrifice and have courageous faith to trust God, which allowed Him to achieve all that was accomplished. One of these milestones was paying off our mortgage on June 26.

In these pages, you’ll be able to see some significant ways God has been at work at Community. As you read this report, I hope you will be reminded that each number represents a person whose life was changed and a story enriched by God’s grace.

On page 16, you will find the ministry funding plan our elders are presenting for affirmation by the membership on January 5, 2020. The 2020 ministry funding goal is $16,000 per week. This funding goal includes our MDO program, and the total is the same as our 2019 goal. As giving increases, we will be able to expand our reach in our community and beyond.

In 2020, we have the opportunity to be a living, breathing, vivid picture of Jesus’ love. It will also be a year of taking heroic steps of faith, knowing God is leading, and trusting Him for the outcome. We live by faith as we trust Him by doing what the Bible says to do, believing God will do what He has promised to do, and never shying away from an opportunity to allow Him to “show off” in our lives.

Lauri and I continue to be so blessed that God has allowed us to be part of the journey we call Community. We love you and look forward to all that 2020 will bring.

FUNDING 2020 ministry funding needs.

Each week, people give financially as part of their worship. This giving supports the vision and mission of Community Church. Your primary offering, known as first fruits, funds the weekly ministries of Community. Throughout the year, we have additional giving opportunities over and above the primary offering for causes, events, projects, or campaigns like “Forward With God” or the “Dollar Club.” (2 Corinthians 9:7-11, Deuteronomy 14:23, Deuteronomy 26) The people of Community Church between November 2018 and October 2019 gave a recorded total of $1,020,584 of which $827,627 was to the Ministry Fund and $152,957 was to the Special Offerings. Part of the Special Offerings, in the amount $82,061, was given directly to reduce the principal on the church mortgage, allowing us to pay our mortgage in full on June 26, 2019.

The financial goal for funding 2020 ministries is $16,000 per week, or $832,000 for the year. This need is based on the actual giving and spending between November 2018 and October 2019. Giving over and above this will allow us to continue to fortify current ministries beyond 2019 levels and make capital improvements to our facilities.

CAMPUS, OUTREACH & MINISTRY PARTNERS // annual // $453,400 | weekly // $8,720 | percent // 54.5% The Campus Ministries budget line reflects the financial needs for labor, materials and supplies to support the many ministry efforts throughout our church. This includes Sunday morning services, funerals, worship, communion, videos, audio-visual, and special guests. It also includes ministry to children, youth, singles, couples, adults and seniors. Each week 500+ people gather for worship, teaching, and sharing their lives with others. Over 165 children, 70+ youth, and 225+ adults find connection and growth through Sunday groups, community groups and service groups. In addition to the Regular Ministry Fund support, there was over $55,931 or $1,075 per week in “Special Fund Giving” directed toward ministries to individuals and families from November 2018 through October 2019. We expect similar types of extra giving to occur in this area of ministry in 2020. Outreach and ministry partners extend the mission of our church through local, state, national and international ministries.
