The 10 members of team “Such Devotion” received hundreds of contributions and are on target to raise over $25,000 which includes $7,400 from the Blooms, Brews and BBQ event recently held by Weston Nurseries. Donations are still being accepted and can be made by visiting the team’s fundraising page at http://danafarber.jimmyfund.org and searching for “Such Devotion.”

Hopkinton Police Department holds ‘Pink Patch’ fund raiser

Kelly Grill, co-director of the Hopkinton Center for the Arts purchases a Pink Patch from Lieutenant Joseph Bennett to support the Hopkinton Police Department’s effort to raise money to support breast cancer research. The department partnered with the Pink Patch Project and the staff at the Emblem Authority to develop the patch that is available at the police station through the end of October. Patches are $10 each and 100 percent of the proceeds will be donated to a cancer research/treatment foundation. Bennett encourages all who wish to support the department’s efforts to stop by the station and pick up a patch. Cash and checks made payable to the Hopkinton Police Association will be accepted. All patches must be picked up in person.

Appointed by the Board of Selectmen on June 6, 2017, the Center School Re-Use Advisory Team was charged “to recommend, for the board’s consideration, a plan for the building and property that will provide the board with valuable outside viewpoints on the use and development of the property. This plan shall outline the community’s vision for the future use of the property and produce recommendations for the Board’s consideration that align with the aspirations of the community”. Completing its mission as charged, the team presented their final report and recommendations regarding future uses of Center School to the Board of Selectmen at their Sept. 25 meeting. “After surveying town Departments and committees, soliciting suggestions from the public, developing evaluation criteria, holding two formal public hearings, interviewing
