Khumalo to step down as Town Manager By Mary Ellen Gambon Staff Writer

own Manager Norman Khumalo announced Dec. 4 that he will be leaving his job as Hopkinton’s town manager after nearly 15 years. In a public relations statement from the town, he announced that he is retiring in early 2024 after more than 30 years in municipal service to take a leadership position with a multinational sustainable energy company. “I am extraordinarily proud to have spent such a significant portion of my career in the wonderful Town of Hopkinton,” Khumalo stated. “It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve such a vibrant, growing town. I am grateful to all the great civic leaders, board and commission members and volunteers. Together we have worked to make Hopkinton the community it is today.” Khumalo’s end date will be finalized in collaboration with the Select Board and all senior town leaders to

ycling advocates raised concerns about the safety of the separated bike lane implemented as part of the Main Street Corridor Project, hoping that modifications will be handled when construction resumes in the spring. Construction halted for the winter on the Main Street Corridor Project in early November, with final paving and brickwork to resume in the spring. No ending date has been set for the project, according to the town website. The town is awaiting transformers from Eversource in order to complete underground utility work.
