As one of the most high-profile sporting events, the Tour de Yorkshire must maintain the highest standards of fairness.

Those tasked with enforcing the rules are the race adjudicators including the Finish Line Judge. They will keep up with the action in BMW 3 Series Touring, and BMW X5 models.

Iconic Red Cars Watch out for the iconic Red Cars which are synonymous with the race. Inside the 11 Cars are race VIPs including directors Sir Gary Verity and Christian Prudhomme, and the race commissaires (referees).

Two of the most technologically sophisticated electrified cars in production today, the BMW i3s and i8 Roadster, will be showcasing the breadth of Global’s extraordinary fleet.

Thanks to their advanced drivetrains, both the i3s and i8 Roadster have extremely low emissions – these unique vehicles represent the cutting edge and the likely future of the automotive industry. These spectacular plug-in models will be proving that they have more than enough stamina to make it to the finish line.

If you ever wondered just how the Tour de Yorkshire comes together so successfully each year, well, these people certainly have a lot to do with it! The Logistics team – which includes the Start and Finish Speaker, Signage Manager, Start Site Manager, Partners Department, Hospitality, along with so many others are essential to keeping the show on the road. Global will be playing a key support role with our Ford Transit, BMW 3 Series Saloon and Touring, 5 Series Saloon and Touring, and X5 vehicles – just as we do for our customers with our vehicle back-up capability.

Welcome to Yorkshire Vehicles As the lead organiser, the Welcome to Yorkshire & A.S.O. teams play an important role in making sure all the intricate planning of the race comes together and runs like clockwork. Look out for the BMW 1 Series, 3 Series Touring and the Ford Transit Tourneo.

As one of the largest cycling events in the world, the Tour de Yorkshire not only sees millions of spectators line the route, but also attracts plenty of VIPs and celebrities. How else would they get around but in refined, luxury? If you see the latest BMW 5 Series you might just spot a celebrity or two.

TV Crew Cars The Tour wouldn’t be the TV spectacle it is without the stunning race footage which is recorded along the 700km route, during four exhilarating days. As the cycling world tunes in, they’ll be treated to incredible race action – much of it filmed from the TV cars.

Doctors’ Cars

Public Relations Cars The Tour de Yorkshire is a high-speed, high-risk race, where some of the world’s best riders go wheel-to-wheel. With no quarter given, crashes are not uncommon and a rapid medical response is essential. Hopefully the race doctors who will be driven in a BMW M4 Convertible are not needed, but this high-performance model will make sure they get to the scene of any emergency as fast as possible. Other medical professionals, including Anti-doping Control will be driving the BMW 1 Series.

Sprinkling a little more razzmatazz on the race will be media, publicity and animations supervisors, driven in BMW 1 Series and X5 models.

If you can’t be at the race, then make sure you tune in on TV. Never has the Tour looked so good, and Global are proud to be playing our part!

4x Bicycles Pick-Up and Broom Wagon The Broom Wagon vehicles follow the race and ‘sweep’ up those who are unable to make it to the finish line within the permitted time. Global also supplies a wide range of commercial vehicles including the multi-purpose Ford Transit, Ford Transit Minibus, and Ford Transit Tourneo, which will be used by the essential team of support staff.

Bonnet Signing.

Both the men’s and women’s teams signed separate bonnets minutes before they joined the race start line. Sporting legends such as Mark Cavendish, Greg Van Avermaet, and Megan Guarnier signed the bonnets.

The men’s signed bonnet is now placed in Global’s reception area and is a great conversation starter for our customers and visitors.

As part of our commitment to supporting our community, we donated the women’s signed bonnet to Yorkshire Air Ambulance to raise funds in an auction.

The Tour de Yorkshire Ride offers a unique mix of Tour de France delivery combined with Yorkshire hospitality and beauty resulting in a sportive dream day.

This is the public’s chance to ride many of the same roads as the pros before they do, including the pro finish line complete with support from the waiting crowds.

A large number of participants are corporate clients. They use the Tour de Yorkshire sportive for business entertainment and employee engagement.

As part of the 2018 edition, Global had a Sportive team, which included the likes of the Brownlee brothers, Gabriella Shaw and other passionate sportsmen and women.

Yorkshire 2019.

In September 2019 the world’s best cyclists will come to Yorkshire for the UCI Road World Championships, the pinnacle event in the international road cycling calendar.

The Championships will include a range of men’s and women’s races, across age groups from junior to elite, starting in different towns and cities throughout Yorkshire and each finishing in the main competition town of Harrogate.

It will be the first time that Britain has hosted the UCI Road World Championships since 1982 and Yorkshire is aiming to deliver the most inclusive, innovative and inspiring Road World Championships in the history of the UCI.

The racing will commence with a ground-breaking para-cycling event running alongside the Championships which will act as a qualifier for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. The showcase will feature every Paralympic road racing discipline and take place in front of one of the largest crowds ever assembled for an elite para-cycling event.

These UCI Road World Championships will build even further on the county’s growing global reputation for the sport thanks to the annual legacy race, the Tour de Yorkshire, which has continued to grow each year with record breaking spectator numbers.

Harrogate will be the focal point for the Championships and host the finish of every race over the nine days of competition.

Global is proud to be driving the UCI Road World Championships from start to finish, following the successful partnership to the Tour de Yorkshire.
