ABOUT THE AUTHORS Jane Bennett strayed from social work to pursue a career in counselling, teaching and writing in the field of natural fertility management after experiencing the revelations of charting her own cycle in the mid-eighties. Jane also facilitates workshops for girls and their mums celebrating their approaching menarche and fertility, and for dads on how to handle the changes and stay close to their daughters. The author of A Blessing Not a Curse (Sally Milner Publishing, 2002) and co-author of The Natural Fertility Management Kits for Contraception and Conception (NFMKits, 2004) with Francesca Naish, Jane has a daughter and three stepsons and lives with her husband in Central Victoria amongst 500-million-year-old granite boulders. She enjoys standing on her head, pulling out weeds and making felt animals, but not all at once. Alexandra Pope has a background in education and since 1988 has worked in private practice as a psychotherapist and more recently as a coach. Based on her experiences of working with women and girls and the discovery of the value of her own cycle, Alexandra has been running workshops and lecturing in Australia and the UK on the power of the cycle for women’s creative, psychological and physical wellbeing since 1993. She is currently developing a women’s leadership program based on this work. Alexandra is the author of The Wild Genie (Sally Milner Publishing, 2001) and The Woman’s Quest (Self published, 2006). Passionate, articulate and slightly driven, Alexandra has the wild idea that women everywhere will one day experience their menstrual cycle as a really cool, empowering process—an intrinsic, healthy and dynamic part of their being that they simply love to have.
