Multi Surface DEEP CLEAN

SchoolCare® Deep Clean is a fast-acting, citrus based cleaner and degreaser. It rejuvenates tired looking floors with its unique deep cleaning action and is especially good at removing high traffic stains. Bringing floors and hard surfaces back to their original colour, this chemical can be used in many different ways. Deep Clean can be successfully utilised on applications such as deep cleaning plastic chairs that have become grubby over time, removing ball point pen marks from most hard surfaces, or renewing the look of tile grout in walls and floors. Not suitable for use on rubber surfaces.

SchoolCare® Just One is an all-purpose, multi surface cleaner with excellent disinfectant properties. This chemical kills 99.999% of bacteria and is tested to BS EN 1276. Effective against harmful bacteria including C. difficile. Safe to use on any hard surface including hard floors, desks, chairs, door handles, washroom surfaces, basins, urinals and toilets, leaving a pleasant long lasting fragrance. This highly versatile product will ensure that the number of chemicals managed on the site is kept to a minimum.

Multi Surface BACTERICIDAL DEODORISER

SchoolCare® Bactericidal Deodoriser kills 99.999% of bacteria and passes BS EN 1276 at a dilution rate of 1:30. It is an effective and extremely economical daily cleaner disinfectant with a fresh lemon fragrance. This product is ideal for washrooms, toilets and urinals because of its unique ability to eradicate the cause of unpleasant odours. While this Bactericidal Deodoriser is effective after any form of body spillage, including vomit, it can also be used safely on carpets, entrance matting, sports equipment,19 hard floors, desks and bins.

SchoolCare® Heavy Duty Washroom Descaler is a ready-to-use and highly effective deep cleaner and descaler. Ideal for removing thick deposits of limescale and body fats, and is also safe to use on stainless steel. Due to its unique formulation, it is able to cling to shower walls, taps, shower heads, toilets and urinals to allow greater contact time. Can be used neat for thick limescale removal or 1:80 for light soilage.

4 IN 1 WASHROOM CLEANER

This is a unique all round washroom cleaner that works in four different ways. It is a highly concentrated multi-surface cleaner that removes body fats effectively and efficiently. 4 in 1 also descales and deodorises, leaving a longlasting fresh lemon fragrance. With its unique, highly concentrated formulation, the cost in use is very low, partially due to reducing costs in transport. The chemical can be sprayed on to taps and other stainless steel fitments, then wiped off to leave a bright sheen finish. A mild, fragrant foaming hand soap for use through a foam soap dispenser, (sold separately). Economical to use with a typical dispense of 0.6ml. SchoolCare® Kitchen Degreaser is a high powered degreaser concentrate that is designed to dissolve the toughest grease, grime and burnt-on carbon. This chemical can be used on hard floors, tiled walls, paintwork, stainless steel and all kitchen surfaces, it is also odourless to prevent food taint. It can be diluted up to 1 part chemical to 200 parts water. It also acts as an ideal safety floor cleaner when used with a mop and bucket.

This chemical is a daily floor cleaner with a pH neutral chemical, which means it does not damage floors in the short or long term, this is especially important because undamaged floors are much easier to keep clean. SchoolCare® Bactericidal Floor Cleaner complies with BS EN 1276, BS EN 13704 and kills 99.999% of bacteria, including MRSA and C. difficile which provides an excellent level of protection for pupils who will be in direct contact with floors during the course of the day. Can be used on anti-slip floors, painted floors, linoleum, thermoplastic floors, sealed cork, terrazzo, glazed tiles, sealed wood, vinyl and concrete floors.

COPING WITH SICKNESS OUTBREAKS

The Health Protection Agency advises that the four most important actions during a sickness outbreak are:

•Effective handwashing with soap and water;

•Prompt isolation and exclusion of affected staff and children;

•Enhanced cleaning of the environment and equipment;

•Control of the source (if food/water).

Effective hand hygiene (i.e. handwashing) is vital to prevent transmission of infection. During an outbreak, hands should be washed thoroughly and frequently with soap and water. Some germs causing diarrhoea and vomiting (eg, norovirus) have been shown to survive well in the environment. It is essential that there is a robust decontamination (cleaning and disinfection) regime within the institution. Cleaning and disinfection should be done twice daily as a minimum (plus as necessary) during an outbreak.

Detailed guidance on coping with sickness outbreaks in schools is provided by the Health Protection Agency at www.hpa.org.uk.

VERSAN

Code: CLO036

SchoolCare Versan is a broad spectrum surface disinfectant for disease control. It is designed to stop the winter vomiting bug from spreading through your building, and can also be used after body spillages, such as vomiting. Versan should be applied after the spill has been cleaned up, to treat the affected area and ensure that any remaining germs/viral spores are completely neutralised.

SchoolCare® Versan is made of an aqueous solution of 2% sodium hypochlorite and 16.5% sodium chloride. Although it smells like bleach, it is a much safer, and more effective product.

Hypochlorites are known to be unstable. Is Versan any different?

“Yes”. The purification process during the manufacture of Versan ensures complete removal of all heavy metal ions, which normally act as a catalyst to chemically break down hypochlorites, hence causing instability Since Versan removes these, accurate levels of chlorine can be safely obtained.

Ways to use

Hypochlorite is bleach, which is toxic. Is Versan also toxic?

“No”. As stated above, toxicity in hypochlorites is due to the by-product of their decomposition, sodium chlorate. With the heavy ions removed, Versan decomposes into water and a small amount of sodium chloride (salt).

Will Versan have the same damaging effect as bleach on a work surface?

“No”. Bleaches are usually concentrated to between 5 and 10% and can contain thick detergents to withstand rinsing and flushing. They are dangerous to handle at this concentration and will leave chemicals behind on the surface which will chemically contaminate and taint food. The bleach may also harm the work surface. Although Versan is less concentrated, it will have the same germ-killing effect as bleach while being less dangerous to handle.

Kills 99.999% of bacteria at a dilution of 1:24 (Passes BS EN 13704 and BS EN 1276).

CLP HAZARD PICTOGRAMS EXPLAINED

Hazard pictograms alert us to the presence of a hazardous chemical. The pictograms help us to know that the chemicals we are using might cause harm to people of the environment. The CLP hazard pictograms appear in the shape of a diamond with a distinctive red border and white background.

One or more pictograms might appear on the labelling of a single chemical. When a chemical is diluted correctly the hazards are reduced, and in many cases a ready-touse product that has already been diluted will no longer need CLP pictograms on the label.
